When I was the last.

Leaha Crawford 0:44
Hey hey hey hey! I'm good. Welcome to Growth and Grace. I am Leah Crawford. This

Julian Rosado 0:51
is Julian Rosato. And did you watch the Equals?

Leaha Crawford 0:54
Man, I was moving around. I was I was watching the score though. You

Julian Rosado 0:58
did not. I did not. There we go. There we go. I

Leaha Crawford 1:02
didn't, but my heart was pounding because I was one minute left, 2224,

Julian Rosado 1:06
Oh yeah. Even though

Leaha Crawford 1:07
you know I like DC, so I love DC, and I'm not gonna call them what their old name is, but they're the Commanders.

Julian Rosado 1:14
Yeah, yeah. But I,

Leaha Crawford 1:15
because I like the quarterback.

Julian Rosado 1:16
Yeah, I really like the

Leaha Crawford 1:17
quarterback. But I am happy because I, I saw a meme this morning, and it was talking to a. I can't wait to see my Dallas fan because I'm like, you know, knock knock. He said, "Who's there? He said, "Oh, he's a Cowboys. Oh, and one. No, one one of my my barbers is a um, my son's barber's a Cowboys fan. Oh, so I'm gonna do a knock knock joke. Can

Julian Rosado 1:34
you please tell him I feel sorry? Well, he said, "No, no, so no, no, no. This is what I'm gonna do.

Leaha Crawford 1:40
So we gonna do it. Say knock knock.

Julian Rosado 1:42
Who's there?

Leaha Crawford 1:43
Owen.

Julian Rosado 1:43
Owen who?

Leaha Crawford 1:45
Owen won. That's what I'm gonna tell him, right? And I know he's gonna look at me. I know he's gonna have all kind of memes for me because we. I mean, really funny. Yeah. Oh yeah. We. I can't. I'm at that today. I got some for. Oh, I got some for him because we go we go at it all season with the Eagles and the Cowboys. He sends me all types all types of memes, so I can't wait. But today, y'all, we are it's just us, so we are going to talk about the power of the reset. You know, sometimes you have a plan, and you know where you're going. You know how you're going to get there, and then life happens. Has that ever happened

Julian Rosado 2:26
to you? Yes. You know you've got a plan.

Leaha Crawford 2:28
This is what you're going to do. Life happens, and it could be business changes, money changes, family changes, circumstances change. We change, we grow, and eventually you have to decide: Do I keep forcing this plan, or do something else, or what am I going to do? Do you think

Julian Rosado 2:50
what what does life happen? Are you hearing a lot? Oh, life happens. Life happens.

Leaha Crawford 2:54
What does that mean? So that means that means something different to everybody, right? Because I'll give you life happens. I'm used to having a certain arrangement with my son. Life happens, and things change. And now I have my son majority of the time. And life happened. You know, something happened, and situation changed. So now I had to change my life in order to fit this. Life happens. The fire at my office. I did not plan to have a fire at the office.

Julian Rosado 3:24
Oh yeah.

Leaha Crawford 3:24
I did not plan for the electricity to be off two weeks and the water to be off for two months.

Julian Rosado 3:28
Oh yeah. Didn't

Leaha Crawford 3:28
plan that. Life happened, and I had to pivot to decide what I was going to do. And I know sometimes when life is happening, you get stuck.

Julian Rosado 3:39
Pivoting. Yes, that is very important.

Leaha Crawford 3:43
You know, but that's what we're going to talk about today. You know, when is it time to reset?

Julian Rosado 3:48
Like pivoting.

Leaha Crawford 3:49
But when is it time to reset? What do you think?

Julian Rosado 3:51
I mean, I think it's a good time to reset when you find out the things you're going is not is not actually working out.

Leaha Crawford 4:00
Or do you keep on banging your head against the wall?

Julian Rosado 4:02
I mean, that's if you're doing a business and you're you're keep keep going. See, I hear different conflicting things, and I kind of and that's it. Come on. Yeah, if if you just keep at it and you keep going, one day you will get get through. But the people that that give up and say like, well, you know, I keep, I keep got it, keep going, and this is, this is not working. And then some, some people say that sometimes you have to realize this is not working, and so now I have to pivot to. You don't give up your business, but you have to pivot your business a little bit. Like so,

Leaha Crawford 4:38
I guess it's a difference between resetting and pushing through.

Julian Rosado 4:44
Define that.

Leaha Crawford 4:44
So if I am resetting, I'm still because the goal was the same. I still had this business. Yeah. But maybe how I'm doing the business now needs to change because that didn't work, right? So I'll I'll use me as I'll use me as an example. I know I know me the best. The office was centrally located. We've been in the office for 16 years. Fire happens. We have to go home because we still have to work because we still have deadlines to meet for our clients, right? And in that, didn't realize the amount of activity that comes into my office, right? So now, how do we stay engaging? You know, do I just give up? Had to fire, I close down, or do I? Okay, still I know I have a good product. Do I keep on pushing and then just do the business a little bit differently? Right, and then I have difference with the employees dealing with that because one employee loves one person loves working from home. I have some that love working from home, and I have one main person that wants to go somewhere every day. So then, how do we solve that problem? So I'm like, okay, so you just come to me every day, wherever I am. Me, you just go out and hang out all day because they want to leave the house. So it was, you have to look at you know what's the goal because remember the goal isn't changing. The goal is this business and whatever we need to do in this business in order to produce income. But now the process on how we do it has changed.

Julian Rosado 6:10
That's what one of my mentors told me. He said, "Just if the goal that doesn't change, that just keep the goal, the major goal. The

Leaha Crawford 6:17
goal is the same. It's just how you get to the goal that may change, yeah. All right, and I think that's the difference because, and you're right, because do you? What's the difference between perseverance and stubbornness, right? Because stubbornness says I'm going to do this the same way over and over again, and as my mentor would say, that's the definition of insanity. You're doing the same thing, expecting a different result. When if you just change one thing, you might get the result, your desired result.

Julian Rosado 6:46
Yeah. All right.

Leaha Crawford 6:47
But when you're talking about reset, a lot of us reset January one. You know, we set all these goals for January one, and then by january 15, we forgot all the goals. We back, you know, doing. And what I love about, I guess, one of my a good friend of mine that used to be a co-host when we first started the show. Shouts out to Tiffany Lloyd. Tiffany would say, "You reset when you have the goal that you have intended. Don't wait until a certain time. When you know it's something that you want to do, you plan it, and that can come at any time. You know, like I give you an example, school starts in August, right? And those children, the goal is to get to the next grade, right? So now everything that they do is to get to the next grade,

Julian Rosado 7:32
yeah,

Leaha Crawford 7:32
right? They set the goal. The goal is to do well in school to get to the next grade. And for business owners, there is no or people that want to be in business. If you want to start a business, just jump, just do it. Let's, I mean, depending on what the business is, right? Because certain businesses, you don't need an office space. You don't. I mean, you have an idea, it's a good idea, and find out what you need.

Julian Rosado 7:55
But a lot of people get overwhelmed and say, like, no, just take one thing and do that. Well, then you go feel you'll feel so over you you'll feel so relieved that you accomplished that one thing.

Leaha Crawford 8:07
Okay, so I am in the process of writing a long paper. I just call it a long paper, and what someone told me a long time when you eat an elephant, you know, elephant is huge. How do you eat

Julian Rosado 8:18
it? One bite at a time. Yeah, one

Leaha Crawford 8:20
bite at a time. So you take said goal because first you have to

Julian Rosado 8:24
horrific analogy. Well, it is a horrific analogy, but again,

Leaha Crawford 8:28
this is this is this is 3030 years ago when the person I was like, huh? But when you when you think about it and say said goal is, I want to buy a house. That's the goal. So the market right now is you know all over the place, and this is my first time buying a house. Goal is to get to the house. So what are the things, and then you back into what you have to do in order to buy a house. Because buying a house can be intimidating, especially if it's your first time. Yes, and you don't know what you want to do.

Julian Rosado 8:56
Yes,

Leaha Crawford 8:57
and you know people get on. I know Monique. Shout out to Monique. Monique gets on and talks about it, and then I other had other guests. Alicia Taylor talks about it. A few other people talk about it. Back, first of all, when you want to get a house, first thing you have to do is see how much house do you qualify for, because you don't want to be looking at a $2 million house and you qualify for half a million.

Julian Rosado 9:17
Yes.

Leaha Crawford 9:18
So you want to understand what you qualify for, but even with the qualification, there are certain documents that you need. They need to know your income. They need to have your W 2s. They need to have your paycheck stubs. For business owners, they need financial statements. So you back into it, knowing that the end goal is to get said house, right? And

Julian Rosado 9:36
and how much you qualify for, it's always recommended. Don't that means do not purchase that house. So let's say you qualify for 500,000. Do not purchase a $500,000 house. Well, purchase a 480 or 450. You know. And again, it

Leaha Crawford 9:53
depends on who you're talking to, right? Yeah, yeah. But whatever you do, especially unless you're paying cash for the house.

Julian Rosado 9:58
Oh yeah, yeah. You know

Leaha Crawford 9:59
you. Need to understand. Okay, so these are the things that I have to have in place to show that I qualify to pay for said house, and it could be your credit score.

Julian Rosado 10:08
Yeah.

Leaha Crawford 10:08
So then going through and figuring out how do you work your credit score, making sure your tax returns are filed. You know, just all, just everything. So you have said goal, and then all these other little things have to happen in order for you to reach said goal, and the overwhelming part is, I know when you first see it, it's like, okay, what I do is I lay down for a minute, let it process, and then start breaking it down into smaller pieces. And smaller pieces is, you know, like I had to do an insurance claim. So in the insurance claim, in order for me to get everything, I had to break so many things down, and I had to show where there was a loss. And it took time. It took time, but I had to go through and reconcile everything. Like, well, the good thing is because I'm an accountant, I reconciled anything, everything anyway. But go back and re-reconcile it. Look at it again. Give them my tax return. Give them my sales receipts. Show them all. But you're

Julian Rosado 11:02
experienced in doing that. So tell me about when the first time that overwhelming saw that. Yeah, overwhelming. First time they do it. So what? What got you to like? Okay, well,

Leaha Crawford 11:11
so what? This

Julian Rosado 11:11
is this is the best. That's what

Leaha Crawford 11:13
everything. So my experience comes from. I'm not afraid. I embrace fear because if it scares me, that's what I know. I need to do. And even okay, let's talk about this radio show. The first time I actually did a radio show, I was terrified. I was like, "What in the world? And okay, and I said no when they first said it. I said no. I said no. Well, very good friend. I mean, a good friend of mine, Rhonda. Shout out to Rhonda. She was. We were we were at a an event and somebody approached me because they saw me give a presentation and they said, "How would you like to do a radio show? I said, "No, I said, "I would not. And now, eight years later, right, we're on every week because I just I I couldn't. It was overwhelming. It was like okay, so at first it was every month,

Julian Rosado 12:05
yeah,

Leaha Crawford 12:05
and we were doing them every month, and then it was, you know, let's go weekly, and then we had two shows on two different stations. I was like, hey, this is a lot, but now I plan my life around this,

Julian Rosado 12:17
yeah.

Leaha Crawford 12:18
So I know when I because I love the fact that we tape the show, which is important. But I plan my life so that we can bring on guests, talk to people out, and you know, if you meet me out and you're an entrepreneur, I always want to bring new entrepreneurs on the show just to talk about what they do. And I just embraced it, and part of me embracing it now, you know, my team understands this. They know how to schedule. They know how to talk. You know, schedule the guests. We just this is part of what we do.

Julian Rosado 12:47
That fear.

Leaha Crawford 12:48
I just walked through it. I faced it.

Julian Rosado 12:50
How did you face it? Just faced it. I just started

Leaha Crawford 12:52
doing it. I mean, like riding a bicycle. If you stop pedaling, you're gonna fall.

Julian Rosado 12:56
Oh yeah.

Leaha Crawford 12:57
So I just kept going, and I wasn't afraid of somebody to tell me no that that they didn't want to do it. I don't fear no. I embrace no.

Julian Rosado 13:04
Yeah.

Leaha Crawford 13:05
Because maybe my approach was wrong, right? Maybe that wasn't the right time for

Julian Rosado 13:10
them.

Leaha Crawford 13:10
So I embrace no, and I look forward to people telling me no. I look forward to people, you know, people. Well, I don't want to do that. All right, then. So how can I get you? Because my famous line is, instead of giving me a fast no, how do I get a slow yes?

Julian Rosado 13:22
Yeah, and when I talk to my

Leaha Crawford 13:24
friends, they're like, "How do I get a slow yes? Yeah, you tell me this is my set goal. How do I reach the goal and empower everyone in the process? And sometimes, most of the time, it works. Sometimes I really get pushback, but I had to learn that my altitude was my attitude, and when things go awry, because in my office now things, you know, things aren't as smooth as they were before, and mistakes happen, and I'm like, look, y'all, we're not doing brain surgery. We can fix it. It's paperwork. We can fix it, but we'll have to take some time to fix it. And I love the fact that when you show people that you care about them, and that okay, it's a mistake. How do we work through this? People are more willing to work with you. Yeah, you know, like I like in my house, I you know my son, we he laughs because I when I remember him getting put on the suit for the first time, he's like, "Mom, I don't dress like this, and I'm like, "I know, but this is the man you're going to become. So that's what we're doing. And he was like, "Mom, that's a good answer. I was like, "Yeah, that's the man you're going to become. And I find that sometimes when people are fearful or or scared, they they shut down,

Julian Rosado 14:41
yeah,

Leaha Crawford 14:42
and you just have to be able to talk them through it with love, right? I'm not, I know, hey, because I know I haven't. I mean, and I'm good with my clients because my clients I get interesting situations, hard, you know, complicated tax returns, and talking them through it. Okay, so you did this, you. That, all right. Let's talk about it. Let's talk through it.

Julian Rosado 15:04
Yeah.

Leaha Crawford 15:04
And let's see what the best result is. And let's look at

Julian Rosado 15:09
it. Yeah. I guess mostly just facing it because a lot of people that when they're just so overwhelmed, they're just like, "Well, I'm just going to Nourse. Oh, I've done that too. Well, well, think about.

Leaha Crawford 15:17
Well, I've done that too. So I can tell you this, because I just had this conversation with someone about IRS notices, and I'm like, "Look, when you owe the IRS, they send you notices. Open them, cause letting them sit there is not gonna go away. Yeah, just open the envelope, open the envelope, and when you open the envelope, you see, all right, I owe you money. What, what, what else could it? I mean, okay, you know, and it was just the attitude behind it because people were getting, you know, I had one my one of my clients. He was stressed out before he came to us, and I'm like, he said, "Let's

Julian Rosado 15:52
imagine that.

Leaha Crawford 15:53
Just open. I was like, "Just open the envelope, and I had been telling him this for five years.

Julian Rosado 15:56
Yeah,

Leaha Crawford 15:57
just open envelopes. I don't want to open them. Why?

Julian Rosado 15:59
Yeah,

Leaha Crawford 16:00
open the envelope. Open it. Read what it says. Okay, either you can or you can't.

Julian Rosado 16:07
Yeah,

Leaha Crawford 16:07
and if you can't, there are options there too. If you can, let's work out a plan so so you will. And I think a lot of times, like when I'm talking to people and I see the fear, I'm real good at noticing the fear, and I don't match their energy.

Julian Rosado 16:22
Okay. So I

Leaha Crawford 16:23
diffuse

Julian Rosado 16:24
it. Oh yeah, yeah. And so I

Leaha Crawford 16:25
have a lot, you know, calling me. I like right. I'm dealing with a conversation now, and people, the person is calling me, and oh, they got a whole mouthful, and I'm gonna let them vent.

Julian Rosado 16:34
All

Leaha Crawford 16:34
right, because I understand that you're dealing with your fear, and that's okay. And when I respond, it's going to be okay. So now that we got past that, what's next?

Julian Rosado 16:44
Yeah, because that's not

Leaha Crawford 16:45
going to happen like that. So give me some other solutions, right? And when I am on, when I am at my best, I bring out the best in other people.

Julian Rosado 16:54
Yeah,

Leaha Crawford 16:55
and that's what I noticed.

Julian Rosado 16:56
Yeah.

Leaha Crawford 16:57
So

Julian Rosado 16:57
yeah, and I noticed too when you go to your office, like I said before, everybody's like it. Seems like I thought like they were actually long, long distance family. Like no, that's my client. No, it is.

Leaha Crawford 17:11
The thing is, because we're living in a culture today where everybody is busy, and busy is like a badge of honor. And I'm not busy. I look here. I'm productive.

Julian Rosado 17:24
Yeah.

Leaha Crawford 17:25
And I look for things that help me to become productive. You know, I wake up at 5o'clock every morning, and for the first hour, I'm just sitting there, and I'm like, "Wow. So what are we gonna do today? And sometimes I find myself beating myself up because okay, you didn't do that, but then I'm like, you want to know what you didn't do it? All right, plan it out and get it done.

Julian Rosado 17:46
That's a really good one. I'm gonna take that one. Yeah, yeah, plan

Leaha Crawford 17:50
it out and get it done. Okay, and it's like, or clients pressure me. Okay, they want stuff like yesterday. It's not gonna happen yesterday. It's gonna happen.

Julian Rosado 17:58
Yeah,

Leaha Crawford 17:58
you know, and let's go through the process because part of the process is you know a lot of us don't like to go through the process. The process is where you learn, you know, and if you skip a step, then you got to go back and repeat the step.

Julian Rosado 18:14
Yeah.

Leaha Crawford 18:14
So the process is where you learn. Like three business questions that we I have when somebody is reset resetting is are like when we talk about businesses, is your business making money? Not are you spending it all. Is the business actually profitable? Right, profitable, profitable. Yeah, is it profitable?

Julian Rosado 18:34
Yeah,

Leaha Crawford 18:35
because if you're spending more money than what you're making, it's not profitable. Or we need to look at your spending.

Julian Rosado 18:40
Yeah,

Leaha Crawford 18:41
and figure out, you know, do you need this foresaid business,

Julian Rosado 18:44
yeah,

Leaha Crawford 18:45
you know, but what

Julian Rosado 18:46
if, what about that it is profitable, but you're reinvesting, you're reinvesting it back

Leaha Crawford 18:51
into the business, yeah, and that's and that that and that too can be the case, okay, but you have to look at your ROI. What is that return on that investment that I'm making,

Julian Rosado 19:01
okay, right.

Leaha Crawford 19:02
And when you start to talk to people, I guess differently, and not using accounting terms and all the other stuff, but every day, like, all right, do you have a budget? Because you budget until you don't have

Julian Rosado 19:14
to,

Leaha Crawford 19:15
right? Do you have a budget? Do you know how much money you're bringing in? Do you understand how you're spending your money? And I know a while ago before everybody got to like for people that are really serious about it, are you monitoring monitoring your expenses? And I would do something where I wouldn't use credit cards. If I wanted something, I had to pay cash for

Julian Rosado 19:34
it. And

Leaha Crawford 19:35
if the person, if the place didn't take cash, I couldn't get it. And I don't know many places that don't take cash, but if I had set amount of money, when I was done spending that money, that's

Julian Rosado 19:44
it.

Leaha Crawford 19:44
That's it. Can't spend no more. And what I found was, it was easier for me to see what I'm spending money on.

Julian Rosado 19:53
But this is like day to day expenses. Day to day.

Leaha Crawford 19:56
Well, it was

Julian Rosado 19:57
business expenses.

Leaha Crawford 19:58
No, like day to day expenses. Me personally, okay,

Julian Rosado 20:00
okay. Business

Leaha Crawford 20:01
expenses, I have to go home and sit in front of my computer to pay the bills. Yeah, and I pay the bills one time a week, once a week. I look at all the bills, I see exactly what I have to pay, and I plan it to make sure that it fits within the budget that I created for the business. And when I was when I'm strict about it, things go well. When I let it go to the side, or I don't want to look at it. It's not a plan, and things go awry. You know, but it-you really have to look at even and not just businesses because I look at my life the same way. I plan for stuff. I'm a planner, so I plan for stuff, and I know certain things are due every time the same year, like car registrations, you know, if you have a car, you know your registration is due same time every year, and unless it's a classic vehicle, you have to go get a small check, then you have to pay for your registration. It's not like they surprise you and say, "Oh, I'm doing it next month. Nope. If you registered your car in September, every September that's when your car registration is due, right? Certain bills you know you get monthly and monitoring it. If you know you get your utility bills monthly, you know in the summertime electric bills in Las Vegas are a little bit higher because we run air conditioners, right? In the winter time your gas bill might be a little bit higher because you're running the heat, not unless you have an all electric unit. And it's like, how do you think through your life so that it makes sense. You know, if you have rent now, rent was different because rent jumped up a lot, right? But then, how do you plan it? If I know every month, every month on the first of the month, you have to pay said rent.

Julian Rosado 21:35
Yeah, on the first of the month. Yeah.

Leaha Crawford 21:37
But how do you plan for that so that you can make sure on the first of the month you have said frame, you know. And a lot of times it's working. I know me and my brother-in-law constantly have conversations about when he came out of school. He always had roommates because he was like, "There's no way I could live on my own. I always had to have roommates so that we could split the cost so that we could afford to live. You know. So it's a lot of stuff, you know. But what about you? What do you think?

Julian Rosado 22:04
I think, yeah, having a set plan is crucially important because back, say, perhaps like in 2020 22, I was just, man. It was just really a bunch of ignorance. Yeah, cash will come in, pay bills, then go have some fun, and then I'll be out, and then do it again. Another payment will come in, and then another commission will come in, and then.

Leaha Crawford 22:41
So what I didn't hear you say was you paid bills, but did you put some money to the side?

Julian Rosado 22:46
No, no, because I always knew another commission was coming. No, but the thing about but but

Leaha Crawford 22:50
what would what how about when the commission stopped?

Julian Rosado 22:53
Yeah, exactly. I did didn't really didn't think about right, and that's a lot of times. A lot of times

Leaha Crawford 22:57
we get said money, and I know I was I was raised old school. You get said money. You always put X amount of dollars up.

Julian Rosado 23:04
Yeah,

Leaha Crawford 23:05
always put because you never know what's gonna happen.

Julian Rosado 23:07
Yeah,

Leaha Crawford 23:08
and when I talk about you know when you talk about having fun, I plan fun, and that's funny. How you playing fun? I do. I have a budget, and when I spend that budget, that's it.

Julian Rosado 23:19
Wow,

Leaha Crawford 23:19
that's it. And we go home, sit down and watch TV, or something. Because again, it's it's one of those things. I watched a lot of people when money controls their emotions. When they have a good, they have a lot of money. They're happy, da da da. And when things are tight, they're mean and nasty.

Julian Rosado 23:38
Yeah. And

Leaha Crawford 23:39
I never wanted to be that person.

Julian Rosado 23:41
Yeah.

Leaha Crawford 23:42
So I want. I like consistency. So how can I consistently live? You know. So I plan it. Like I'm. I mean, we're doing different events, and I plan to go. So if I plan to go, I map out the plan, and I, you know, I know what I enjoy. So I try to map it out that way.

Julian Rosado 23:59
Yeah.

Leaha Crawford 23:59
You know, but functioning and flourishing are two different things, and a lot of us live and we're functioning, and we're not flourishing.

Julian Rosado 24:08
Yeah.

Leaha Crawford 24:08
And all you do is change some behaviors, yeah. And you're no longer just existing; you're living. Yeah. And I remember someone saying that, Leah, are you existing, or are you living?

Julian Rosado 24:18
Yeah. And if

Leaha Crawford 24:19
that's the goal, what does that look like for you? Makes sense.

Julian Rosado 24:23
Yeah. All right. So

Leaha Crawford 24:24
you're listening to Leah Crawford.

Julian Rosado 24:26
This is Julian Rosado,

Leaha Crawford 24:27
and we are the hosts almost both in grace.

Julian Rosado 24:29
Forgot my name. You

Leaha Crawford 24:30
forgot your name. I know. I was listening

Julian Rosado 24:31
so bad. No. You're so listening intensely. Listening intensely.

Leaha Crawford 24:35
But let's talk about this. We're supposed to change. And think about it, you are not the same person that you were.

Julian Rosado 24:44
No, no, no. I would say before I started this show, I was different person. You were different, right? I remember when you started the show. You like, I can't, I, I gotta talk. I was like, Yeah, you gotta talk.

Leaha Crawford 24:54
It's gonna be easy, but you're allowed to evolve, right? You're allowed. To grow, and it's like because you're not the same person you were in your teens that you were in your 20s, your 30s, and 40s. And as you evolve, you know, you you learn from the experiencing. Because if you're going through something hard right now, that's giving you the muscle to build for something else.

Julian Rosado 25:19
Yeah,

Leaha Crawford 25:20
you know, and you keep on building, and you keep on building. You know, you don't have to change your. Like I said, you don't have to change your goal because if the goal is to start a business, how do you get there? If the goal is to buy your first home or to buy another home, you're in a home you want to buy another home. How do you get there? The goal is to send children to college. Okay, how do you fund that? How do you get there?

Julian Rosado 25:40
Yeah.

Leaha Crawford 25:41
How do you let the actions every day, the discipline of every day, get you to set goal?

Julian Rosado 25:48
Yeah, and see yourself in that position. You know what I mean?

Leaha Crawford 25:52
Yep. And I remember someone said to me a long time, like, "You're not starting over if stuff happens. You're starting again, because now you have all the experience from the things you've learned in the past,

Julian Rosado 26:02
yeah,

Leaha Crawford 26:02
that can help you in this journey.

Julian Rosado 26:04
Yeah, you know.

Leaha Crawford 26:05
So again, it's it's a lot, but if you look at your life, look at where you are now, because today is a summation of all the decisions that you made in the past, yeah, right today,

Julian Rosado 26:19
yeah.

Leaha Crawford 26:20
But if you want 2027 to be different today, do something different.

Julian Rosado 26:26
Yeah, yeah,

Leaha Crawford 26:27
right. And it's simple stuff. So people say, you know, I'm at square one. No, you're not at square one. You're just at a different square now.

Julian Rosado 26:36
Yeah,

Leaha Crawford 26:37
you know, and you can you know look back and see what all you've done, analyze it, but then you know where you need to move on.

Julian Rosado 26:43
Yeah, and the the pivot, yeah, that's really really important. Yeah, unless you're a Cowboys fan. I mean,

Leaha Crawford 26:50
well, that's well. The thing about it is, like I said, growth.

Julian Rosado 26:54
It's the same thing over and over and over. Well, no,

Leaha Crawford 26:56
because they had it, they they they they gonna get it together. It's the season. It's ebbing and flowing. Right now, they ebbing, they ain't flowing, and they they not flowing. You know, so I can say this: two things can be true at the same time. It can be hard, and you can be trying to do something different. You can not not trying. Oh, absolutely. It can be hard, and you can be working to be better. Yeah. Right. So I'm I'm lightning round. So I'm say a word, and you want to tell me what comes to your mind? Okay. Okay. I'm I'm doing you this time. You're not doing me. All right. All right. Growth.

Julian Rosado 27:29
Happiness.

Leaha Crawford 27:30
Leadership.

Julian Rosado 27:31
Time.

Leaha Crawford 27:32
Failure.

Julian Rosado 27:33
Time.

Leaha Crawford 27:36
Peace.

Julian Rosado 27:37
Um. Far, far away.

Leaha Crawford 27:40
Purpose.

Julian Rosado 27:43
money.

Leaha Crawford 27:45
Okay, okay. Before we leave today, I just want everybody to do a little homework. Nothing complicated. Take out a piece of paper. Write down three words: keep, change, and release. Got it. Keep, change, and release. Under keep, write down what's working. Under change, write down what you value and what needs to be done differently, and release. Write down what you already know you need to let go. Let go

Julian Rosado 28:08
of. Be

Leaha Crawford 28:08
honest. What am I keeping? What am I changing? And what am I finally willing to release? Sometimes the reset begins with simply telling yourself the truth. Peace and blessings to everyone out there. Have an amazing weekend because we're about to go in the fall. Hey, peace and blessings. Bye.
