better than I was the last time, baby, we back and
we back and we back and we back and we back and we back, we back, and I was the last you eat. That was the last time.
Leaha Crawford 0:44
Good morning. Go ahead, Jolie, how
Julian Rosado 0:45
you doing? How you doing? I'm good. How are you today? Um, doing pretty good. Pretty good. Yes, yes. Went
Leaha Crawford 0:53
to the Salvation Army's event this week. Oh, you did. It was good. How was it? It was good. A good kitchen kickoff. I will talk more about it next week, though. Wow. I'm gonna try to get them back on here to talk about some about some more their programs, because it was always good to see them in action. Wow, in action. Well, today y'all, we have Nicole Williams back on talking about her event that's coming up next week. Just a side note, though, the Las Vegas black film festival is going on right now, so if you get a chance to go by the Suncoast Hotel The Las Vegas black film festival at the Sun Coast is happening today, right now.
Nicole Williams 1:25
All right. Nicole, how you Good morning? How you doing?
I'm great. How are you guys? I
Leaha Crawford 1:31
am good. I am good. Good to see you. What's been going on? What you got going on? I've
Nicole Williams 1:35
been, I've been really, really busy just getting things activated. Festival season has kicked off in a great way. So traveling started. My travels coming up in May, and have a few events start off for Vegas too, as well.
Leaha Crawford 1:54
Okay, so what's what's going on? What you got? Oh, I'm sorry.
Nicole Williams 1:59
Well, I have my hotties annual pool party. Oh, with taste entertainment, DJ bossy Lee and House of Vegas pride, we come together to do a women's only pool party. We're gonna be at the Lexi on May 3. Downer
Julian Rosado 2:13
women's only Yes, well,
Leaha Crawford 2:16
well, good. It's good for some people, right? I mean, it's a good time. Yeah, you know
Nicole Williams 2:21
women, when it's a women's party, it's a different energy. I know that's why you want to go. It's a good time. People come from California, even you know, from all over to come to this party. Taste entertainment. We collaborate on women's only programming with House of Vegas pride, so I usually do that with them.
Leaha Crawford 2:46
Yeah, all right. So what? How long is? So the normal pool party in the evening nine. Yeah,
Nicole Williams 2:52
we, we do, uh, like evening until late night. Uh, so doors open at five o'clock. Wow. Guest list is sold out. We have some sections left. Can get tickets at the door too as well, but we go until they don't want to go anymore. Okay, at the Lexi hotel off of West Sahara. Oh, okay,
Leaha Crawford 3:14
all right. So what else do you do? I mean, it's just a pool party. Are there other events? We
Nicole Williams 3:19
have a wet t shirt contest. We have 1t shirt contest games. We we have a performers. We'll have like, cornhole out there, you know, we just a lot of times it's just for friends to get together too and hang out. It's one of my animal events. And we, we play games and just listen to good music, sing, do old school songs and just have a good time. Have a good time. Yeah, no, no. Cis men. We do transgender non binary are also welcome, but it's just no cis men for this event. Got
Leaha Crawford 3:51
it. Got it. So the only thing is just the pool party. It's nothing else around it, like you're not doing any other events around it or
Nicole Williams 3:59
anything. No, normally we do our pressure party, which is in a nightclub, but because we hadn't done the pool party and so long, we really wanted to focus on this and just be excited about pool season. So we just decided just to do the one event, and then P nasty has a very busy schedule, so this was the only day that they were available for the taste crew to come out to Vegas. Nice,
Julian Rosado 4:24
can I go as, like, a maintenance person, like, I'm just there, as, you know, just maintaining everybody's, you know, in line, like a dress code, like, you know, make sure
Nicole Williams 4:33
you can be the bartender
Leaha Crawford 4:36
there and different things. Yeah. I mean,
Nicole Williams 4:38
if you work with the staff, of course. So you know, contract for hire with Alexi. Maybe you know, security to check IDs. You can't frisk. We have women's security for that, you know. So I'm sure we could, we could work it out and create a safe environment, creating a safe environment, and that's what it's about. So some women only will go to women's only LGBTQ type event. So we do. Have people that attend these events that specifically come because they feel comfortable in a women's only environment, yeah. So that's also the consideration too, you know, if a male is in there, some, you know, something that's could be a complaint at the desk, like, hey, there's a man in there, you know, and they might feel uncomfortable. So we do just for this particular event, create a safe space.
Julian Rosado 5:24
Yeah, yeah, I'll tell you this. So the one time friend of mine invited me to a gay club, and that was the most fun that I ever had in my entire life. I think we got there like at 10 o'clock because we plan to go to a comedy show right after, and we stayed there till like, three o'clock in the morning. Had a good time. So we were just being ourselves, having a good time, not a care in the world. And I was like, why? Like, why? Why are we having a good time? Because
Nicole Williams 5:57
there's no judgment involved, exactly, and nothing not to talk about like any other, like, outside of gay, LGBTQ clubs, you you don't walk in there looking like, Oh, look at that person. And why are they dressed like that, like you? That's already out the window. Yeah. So when you're in like, a cisgender, like kind of club, if somebody comes in and they're not on trend and they're not, they're not fitting in for that environment, judgment automatically sits in, and then those people end up focusing on the wrong things instead of enjoying themselves. Everybody's all worried about what the other person's doing. You know, at gay clubs, we don't care, like we're coming to have a good time. We're coming to stay lit like and enjoy ourselves into families and friends and stuff. So the judgment is what it is. There's no judgment.
Leaha Crawford 6:43
You name each other, but no, she's she, okay, so first of all, for some of us, throughout a lot of terms, so can you educate us on a different term? So what is CIS?
Nicole Williams 6:53
Cis means birthright, born. So, like you're a cis woman, I'm a cis woman. Okay, so cis gender, male, so, but a transgender birthright, okay? So transgender non binary. So non binary. They don't identify with any gender. And transgender is, you know, transgender woman or transgender man. We do you know, allow those you know, people at the party, for the pool party, so,
Leaha Crawford 7:19
and we, the reason why I ask because a lot of us don't know, and we don't know, and we hear the terms, and we're like, okay, I don't know what that is, but okay, yeah, all right, I love it. I love it, yeah. So you have this party annually. What sparked you having this party?
Nicole Williams 7:33
Um, again, it's about just creating spaces in Vegas that that don't exist, you know, so women's only like urban pool parties. You don't see it on the Strip. You know, when we did our first one in 2023 we brought out 800 women to the Grand Hotel rooftop pool. And even they were like, blown away that, you know, that we were able to have so many just women, you know, no men for that type, but there's a demand for it. So that's what spark did. I really hadn't really focused on just women only parties. Me and pnasty had worked together in the past before when I was a different brand, but we came back together to do these here in Vegas.
Leaha Crawford 8:20
Okay, so when you do those parties, so basically, women, this is a safe space. If you want to go out and just have a good time, you want to go to a pool party, you and your girlfriends just have a and just have a good time. Yeah, and,
Nicole Williams 8:32
and it the these pool parties bring out, like celebrities. You know, they bring out influencers, you know, people that you wouldn't normally see, you know, like, there's been some people that you know probably would normally want to be booked for coming to this, but they're like, Yo, can I get a table? You know, it's that type of environment. You'll see people in our community and just enjoying the space, because even at celebrity level, there's still not a lot of spaces for us to just be so in these type of situations, you will be sitting sometimes next to who you would consider a celebrity or a big time influencer. What would
Julian Rosado 9:14
it be like if a men only pool party could be bored talking about football Madden? Don't they
Nicole Williams 9:20
have them? They have his temptations at Luxor, you know, really, yeah, shout out to Queen bar. They the owners of Queen bar that you see, the Thunderbird. They have a very long time program supported by Caesars. Is the is the temptations on Sundays, just men only. It's gay. Gay men.
Julian Rosado 9:38
Oh, gay men. Oh, okay. I was like, straight men. They be just playing Magic bingo.
Nicole Williams 9:42
I mean, you never know, but it's gay men there. And like, you know, men in general, I have straight women that come to this party. Oh yeah, you know, women just want to come and just be with women,
Leaha Crawford 9:52
but the women are different. But women are different. Women are different, a little bit different, though, yeah, because women do, I mean. Mean, because I know me and my girlfriends do a slumber party every year or so, and we get together and we laugh, we get the time, oh, we have an amazing time, yeah, but it's, it's just No, I mean, if it was
Julian Rosado 10:13
talking, and then probably go to bed, like at, you know, 12. Well, here's
Nicole Williams 10:17
an example, like, you know, at our pool parties. But people, I think people feel more comfortable that might, you know, in terms of, like, some girl just wants to twerk because she hears, you know, one of her favorite songs, come on. No girl is probably really gonna jump on you and just start doing the do like, you know, get behind you maybe. But then, like, you know for sure, in a club assist club setting, she's dropping it like it's hot. Bros are gonna be like, Yo, I'm let me get on that, you know. And you and I think that's pretty much that aggressive energy is not there, oh, where you could just dance and, you know, and not always worry about somebody, you know, trying to grow up you and not talking bad about men. So I don't want to get that, yeah, rap. But again, it is, it is a different energy. Just sometimes people just want to just be and, like, not, you know, do like, drop it like it's hot on somebody. They probably just want to drop it as, like, it's hot for them, you know, and just out there having a good time. Just out there having a good time. I also, I have a fashion show that I'm doing before that on May 1. Oh my gosh, you're busy. I am. I'm so busy I forget what I have and an open house at Studio six to nine for people that are looking for studio apartments. Yeah, so first Friday with tagged up apparel. I'm actually wearing tagged up apparel right now. Okay, so if you see the tag, shout out to Erica Hampton. I walked runway for her for shows. So we're gonna be at the cupcake girls charity event, okay, doing event, and she's putting a line together. I can't talk about the theme, but it's gonna be really exciting. But her theme of her clothes, the tags lead to websites and different types of advertising. Okay, okay,
Leaha Crawford 11:55
okay, so let's go back. Go back, because you said that there's a fashion show, right? Yes, for the cupcake girls charity event and what and what day is that may 1
Julian Rosado 12:03
or Manila, yes,
Nicole Williams 12:07
if you pay for entry, even they're there, they're doing a fundraiser, and that is for protection for human sex traffic workers or sex workers. They provide protection for that for people that work in that industry. So
Leaha Crawford 12:23
you're doing a fashion show, and what else are you doing?
Nicole Williams 12:25
Uh, open house for studio six to nine if you're looking for a studio apartment in downtown Fremont Street, Las Vegas, 90 April street, across streets, uh, Ogden and Main Street, okay, yeah. Well, we'll have live remotes and broadcasting and giveaways, offering up to a month free. So, yeah, like, so I got that the pool party of fascist show. So you're
Leaha Crawford 12:47
downtown. I'm downtown.
Nicole Williams 12:51
I need to I've been looking into, I've been looking into that option. I am in Henderson now. So is Henderson, and everything that I have going on now is becoming an issue with the traffic. It is an
Leaha Crawford 13:02
issue with the traffic because traffic is not easy. It's not it's not
Julian Rosado 13:08
doing construction right now. No. Plan
Leaha Crawford 13:10
differently, huh? You have to plan differently, because what used to be a 10 minute commute is now a 30 minute commute,
Nicole Williams 13:19
yeah, that underpass, when you going to Maryland Parkway from like, like, if I was to leave here, I would go through the airport underpass to get back to Henderson, but there's construction over there now to where it takes so much. It took me an hour to get home from the center, from show practice last the other night, an hour because the traffic was so backed up by the airport with the cones and one lanes. So I'm trying to figure out another way to get to Henderson when I'm in the city. So I'll
Leaha Crawford 13:47
talk to you about that, because I do it all the time, great,
Nicole Williams 13:49
because I like, and it's like, I try it, and then I like, oh, I'll just go my regular way. And then I'm like, I need to really figure this out.
Julian Rosado 13:56
Yeah, last time I was driving in the wrong lane probably for about like, oh my god, yeah, I was driving towards traffic. You missed the cone. Yeah, I know the arrow to tell
Leaha Crawford 14:06
you that is something to talk about, though, because if you're not paying attention, traffic patterns change. I
Julian Rosado 14:13
know, yeah, overnight it was, it was late, and then and I saw the traffic guy. He was changing. He was switching it as traffic was coming by. I was like, oh, man, that's unsafe. No, yeah, and they're just standing right in the middle of the street. I was like, you know how dangerous that is to, you know, cars going 3035, miles an hour, and you just thinking like you're okay, you know what? Somebody's drunk or something like that.
Nicole Williams 14:35
Yeah. No, they're getting careless. I think because there's so much construction, like, there was, like a bulldozer guy, and there was nobody over by him. He's backing up. I'm going forward. I'm like, bro, like, stop. Like, you know, what are you doing? They're not flagging people down. Like, you know the stop when the when their construction cars are going past. Like, we're just driving as they're driving. Like, I thought that was not, yeah. What you're not supposed to do. So it is, it is unsafe, like a little unsafe. I've had to replace tires for nails, like
Leaha Crawford 15:07
I've had that recently. But again, my office is on Sixth and Clark, and when I first moved there, Sixth Street, no Clark was a two way street. I was there. Clark was a two way street. Clark was a two way street. Now it's a one way street. Wow, going west, okay, and imagine being in business during tax season. Street is under construction, so it's really hard for people to get there. And I had more in the silver car, yeah, more nails in a tire. I mean, it was like, every week I was going get a nail pulled out the tire doing I mean, it was horrible.
Nicole Williams 15:47
It's terrible, like, there, there needs to be, we need to contact insurance, because, just like a rock, you know, because GEICO will replace your windshield if a rock hits you on the road. I think nails need to be considered entirely, just for the city of Las Vegas, just for the city that should be a selection.
Leaha Crawford 16:03
Well, what I did was just FYI. I actually just got warranty on the tires. I just wouldn't pay the money and got warranty on the tires because it was just, it was like a month period, and my girlfriends were like, your tires again, yeah. And I'm like, wow, yeah,
Julian Rosado 16:21
some limits change so abruptly. So here will be 35 then it switched to 45 and then there will be, like, no signage, you know? I mean, right, right between always, they just
drop carefully, yeah, who's
Nicole Williams 16:35
in charge of construction in Las Vegas? I think that's, I think that's the big question everybody wants to know, like, who's in charge of this? Who plan
Leaha Crawford 16:42
this? Who planned this? Because whoever planned, yeah, they it was interesting planning. I'll say that, you know. But what I can say is, when it's done, the roads are actually absolutely amazing to ride on,
Nicole Williams 16:55
very slowly but surely. And you are right. It is like a sense of relaxation. It is because
Leaha Crawford 17:01
i Because, right now I live by UNLV, so they were doing harm so they're doing Harmon, and they started from down around Nellis. And at, you know, in my neighborhood, I'm like, Oh my God, just can't get on Harmon now, oh my god. I'm like, I wish I could just fly down the street. It's just so smooth. And, I mean, it is. It's worth it. It's just the process,
Nicole Williams 17:23
yeah. DJ, in the process. DJ, Kelly, J had made a pose one time during f1 construction, and she said that it looked like Zara's play box that she didn't clean up. It's what outside looks like a kid's play box playroom. Yeah, they didn't put away all their toys?
Leaha Crawford 17:41
Well, no, but that's also a consideration, because if you're new to the valley, because thus, those of us that have been here for a long time, it was very easy to get across Las Vegas 15 minutes, 15 minutes, anywhere, anywhere you want to go in Las Vegas, very easy. Now it is turned into a commute.
Nicole Williams 17:56
I feel bad for the kid that's missing curfew, because when my parents let me use the car back when I could drive. I used to be able to give from Sahara because I went to Clark High School to Nellis in Charleston, and 10 minutes to make it home. By midnight,
Julian Rosado 18:09
something was up. GPS would say, like, seven minutes, eight minutes. I'm like,
Leaha Crawford 18:15
that's a lot longer. No. I mean, you used to get across the valley. Now you just have to plan differently. You do have to plan differently. You do,
Nicole Williams 18:20
and then people need to be safe. I I'm so I get so I just pray. Every time I see a car accident, or, you know, the the traffic built up and it's like a terrible accident, like people really need to be safe out there, driving and paying attention, that, you know, to watch each other. Yeah, all right, so
Leaha Crawford 18:35
let's get back to this. So you have the pool party going on next Saturday. Where can they come? Where's the contact information and the ticket information vegaspride
Nicole Williams 18:45
house.com and you can go straight to the website, to the ticket link, or house of Vegas pride Instagram. You can look at all the great hotties promo that I'm putting up for the party. And the links in the bio on linktree, and you can get your tickets there. Like I said, guest list is sold out. Half the sections of cabanas are sold out. You can always just contact us for questions, but you don't want to be waiting in line for that, you know. And guest list, if you're on the guest list, you have to be there by 6pm Oh, wow. No exceptions. If you're not there by six, you'll have to pay for at the door. Jeez.
Leaha Crawford 19:24
Man, okay, Heidi's, well, I'm, I'm glad that you're back. It sounds like you're back in the swing of things. Last time you were going through a train, well, the first time we came, when you were going through a little transition, trying to get it back together. Sounds like you did the work, and you got it back together. Yeah,
Nicole Williams 19:41
you know, community. Community calls. And, you know, I love what I do. And just, you know, at the time, I decided to take care of my daddy, and my dad's doing much better. He's walking now and, and it's back to old Vince Williams, you know, so just taking the time, because family is first before. All of this. And I just had to, you know, just take a step back and make sure, you know, my family was good, yeah, and Papa Bear is good now, so Papa Bear is good, so you good. I ran with the wind. Now,
Leaha Crawford 20:12
all right, so, but Vegas pride is coming up, yes.
Nicole Williams 20:15
So house of Vegas pride, I know I'm super late on delay, but you know, with the economy that's going on, I am working out a pretty major announcement on we're gonna do some things different for the festival, August, 15 through the 17th, third weekend of the weekend we are working. And just honestly, y'all keep us in prayer. You know, with these executive orders and things are coming out, we're having to get creative on funding, you know, yeah, and stuff. So just keep, keep people in prayer that are doing nonprofit work, and that are doing work for community, and that we can all figure out a way to still exist and provide, you know, the services that we can at the level that we provide. You said you're doing a fashion show, yes, with tagged up apparel for cupcake girls
Julian Rosado 21:07
may 1 give all your models higher. Oh, I'm a model. Excuse me, right here, yeah,
Nicole Williams 21:17
yeah. So that's the that's what's different. So Rio Antone, who is a non binary person in community, is the production fashion producer, and Erica Hampton, who is a black lesbian, how she has a line called tagged up and it like I said it speak, it all has tags, like on my hat, oh, okay, yeah, and then on my shirt, and I walked in the first one for the poodles entertainment. They had a fundraiser. And then this one is for cupcakes, cupcake girls. And I'm the model. I'm not, I'm not planning anything.
Leaha Crawford 21:54
You're just a model, just showing up. I just get to walk and be
Nicole Williams 21:57
cute. And, you
Julian Rosado 21:58
know, speaking of models. So I got pulled over probably about like four or five days ago, and I don't know if the police department has a requirement that you have to look good or something like that. So this cop, this female cop, when she came out, she was absolutely gorgeous. I could not believe it. And so she first started, asked me for my license registration. I had to cut her off. I said, Excuse me. I'm sorry. This may be so wrong, but you are absolutely not I did, I did, I said, I said, I'm sorry, but you are absolutely stunning. She was like, Okay, thank you. Thank you,
Nicole Williams 22:38
but I still need your registration.
Julian Rosado 22:41
Sorry, but we have to get get back. I was like, I'm sorry, but I said, Is this a requirement that, you know, our police officer then hit her, uh, deputy, or whatever it's called, uh came out. He looked like a Ken doll. I was like, Oh my gosh. He's like, is this a requirement, like, you guys, the first thing first, we gotta get a portfolio of you guys before you guys join the the police department. Yeah, I was like, Oh, my
Nicole Williams 23:06
they so they were like, they were partners together, good looking people. That's really bold of you to say that, like, but that's, you know, and not, not bad. I didn't get a ticket, though. That's great. You know, that's male energy, though. They don't care what's going on, honey. You look amazing, by the way. You know, you look really great. It doesn't matter the situation. A man is always gonna compliment. Yeah,
Julian Rosado 23:30
I couldn't, I couldn't help. I mean, she had everything on, like, geez, man, what the uniform. It looks treated like at a movie. It looked like, if they were, uh, casting a movie, she looked straight out of a movie scene, so
Leaha Crawford 23:46
shocked, like a movie scene, like, like you were in a movie, yeah? So, you know,
Nicole Williams 23:50
Weezy song, you know, off the Carter, Mrs. Officer. So when you hear that song, you just go be like, Oh yeah, I remember that day I got pulled over and didn't get a ticket. But that outfit be hitting though the women they got that police outfit, they be that them curse, be hidden in that little uniform.
Julian Rosado 24:06
I was like, Oh my gosh, I said, I'm sorry. I man, I'm glad you had your paperwork in order.
Nicole Williams 24:15
You spoke up. Like, that's awesome, yeah,
Julian Rosado 24:18
I think, I think that possibly helped, because I'm pretty sure she didn't hear that.
Nicole Williams 24:24
Did she smile? And yes, so she did kind of grin. So maybe she thought you were cute too, and she just couldn't say anything because you were at work. They were at work. She's
Leaha Crawford 24:31
at work, yeah, she's at
Julian Rosado 24:33
work, yeah. But she she did appreciate though, I could tell, okay, probably not used to hearing it at all, you know, or somebody
Nicole Williams 24:39
just being bold to say it, why they're getting pulled over for a ticket, intimidated, you
Julian Rosado 24:43
know, people just being like, you know, like, Okay, I gotta hurry up and, you know,
Nicole Williams 24:47
well, that's a good approach, you know, like, I mean that she wasn't worried about it, and thinking that you were trying to get out of a ticket, that you really were,
Leaha Crawford 24:54
like, genuinely, genuinely given a compliment, though, yeah, yeah. Genuinely given a compliment, yeah?
Julian Rosado 24:59
There
Nicole Williams 25:00
giggling now too. Partner was, he was, I
Leaha Crawford 25:03
know, right. He's still giggling, right? Yeah,
Nicole Williams 25:06
party. I got
Julian Rosado 25:10
a ticket for her, if I would have known ahead of time.
Leaha Crawford 25:17
All right, so basically, we had the hotties party going on next Saturday, yes at the Lexi, yes at the Lexi, okay, and tickets for more information, House of Vegas pride, vegaspridehouse.com vegaspridehouse.com and House of Vegas pride on Instagram, yes, I got it right. So house of Vegas pride on Instagram, vegaspridehouse.com, if you're a woman, you're looking for something to do. You want your girlfriends? You want to go hang out. It sounds like it's a good,
Nicole Williams 25:50
good time. It's so much fun. I'm sorry
Julian Rosado 25:53
would have slipped that cop a invitation to I wish you know
Nicole Williams 25:57
i It's a lot of fun. I wish I'm working, you know, with because we bring so many people like, I have to have spaces that can fit. So generally, it's the strip pulls, like on the casinos, you know, working negotiations, transitions, and, you know, on the corporate level, it makes us difficult to get into sometimes those spaces. But I'm working on trying to have quarterly, or even maybe monthly, trying to have the hotties parties. But it's mainly the space on why we don't have them. I did one last year around this time at the Lexi and this is our first one since last year. Yeah, but you're trying to do it more frequently, more frequently. We started in 2023 so we just us, and P nasty. Jay killum, like taste entertainment, amazing group of ladies to work with. You know, I love bringing P nasty in them out here for the weekend, you know. And Kenzie, Happy belated birthday, but it's always a good time like working with them, so I want to do more.
Leaha Crawford 27:03
Okay, all right. Well, I appreciate you for coming on this morning. Thank you and talking to us. Yeah, event, you've been listening to growth and grace. I am Leah Crawford, this is Julia Rosado, and until next time you have an amazing week. Stay hydrated, y'all, because it is getting hot outside. Peace and blessings. You.
