Julian Rosado 0:44
Hey, hey, hey, pick it up from you. I don't know why I'm stuck to that now. Hey, hey, hey, yeah,

Leaha Crawford 0:52
hey, hey, that's a good thing. Yeah, we

Julian Rosado 0:54
are back. And you know, I'm I'm still kind of shocked about that game. Hey, but the the A's have officially broke ground, and so, yeah, now, so now we are becoming the official home from the Las Vegas A's baseball team. Okay, yeah,

Leaha Crawford 1:16
you want me to have a response? Not baseball. Can see it on my face? No, like, I mean, I'm a because I'm a basketball, football. I am bad. I am basketball, football. So I love basketball. I love football. I just never really got into baseball. And I know a lot of people love baseball, a lot of people, and I have been to baseball games, and it's fun. I mean, it's a lot of fun. And I look forward to the um stadium. And I rode by there the other day and I was like, oh my god, the Tropicana is really gone. Yeah, it's really gone, yeah, so and it's really flat, yeah, I think it's gonna be beautiful. Yeah, gonna be amazing.

Julian Rosado 1:54
Uh, steak is almost 2 billion. They're gonna taxpayer dollars is going into, okay, all right. I mean, yeah, that's a

Leaha Crawford 2:03
lot. But baseball so now we'll have a bass, a female basketball team, hockey team, yep, and a baseball team and a football team, yeah, oh yeah. Can't forget the football team. Letter Raiders, yes. Letter Raiders, the

Julian Rosado 2:18
NBA is looking to even Eagles fan looking for an expansion team. So,

Leaha Crawford 2:23
so hopefully Vegas gets to be the expansion team. I love it. We're gonna speak it into existence. Yeah, you know it's gonna be a Las Vegas basketball now, the Las Vegas basketball team, oh, man,

Julian Rosado 2:34
sold out every single game,

Leaha Crawford 2:36
all right. So we are back this week again, and guess what? They came back to talk to me again. Yeah. So if you were listening to us last week, you got to hear us talk about, you know, a new dental practice, Park Dental. I think it's Park Dental, correct? Parks industry, Park dentistry, Parks dentistry, Parks dentistry, part C, I'll give you a whole new name, right? Parks dentistry, that's like my mother used to rename all of us, Parks dentistry. And then afinoderm, you know, I love, you know, I love Xander, Janet, Jonathan, and then they got married. I didn't get an invitation to the wedding. Bring that up last time, but that's okay. I'm not gonna say I wasn't here that weekend, though. So you're lucky, because y'all got, I'm not mistaken. It was, it was Memorial Day weekend, right? It was, and I knew, remember, I have very good memory, and I knew I wasn't gonna be here, so you're off the hook

Jonathan 3:18
for that. Thank you. Okay, I'm glad I put that in your head earlier.

Leaha Crawford 3:23
You did? You? Did you did?

Leaha Crawford 3:26
I want to believe, I mean, Dave right in and let's talk about it, because you had a good question,

Julian Rosado 3:31
yes, um, how do you guys deal with insurances? So I'm just quick scenario. So let's say you have a patient comes to you and says, you know he only has his insurance lacks certain care and but you guys know that well, he needs full full services. And how would you guys go either going around that or making sure that patient gets as full care as possible? I

Derek Winn 4:00
think it's really tough to get around it. We're so heavily regulated by insurances, and so if a patient is wanting to use their insurance benefits, then of course, we're going to max out their benefits with whatever the insurance will allow to take care of them. We do have alternative paths, like our in house membership plans. If the patient doesn't want to use their their insurance benefits. We have several different tiers of insurance, not insurance, but in house membership plans that we can utilize, or if the patient just absolutely doesn't have access to insurance, I know that that's a it's a privilege, not a right here. And so unfortunately, we do see a very large demographic of patients who maybe don't have access to insurances, and so for that, we offer discounts with our in house membership plans, as well as we don't believe that anybody should be turned away. I'll speak from my own personal story and share a little bit of Justin's. But you know, we both walked away from corporate dentistry with millions of dollars on the table, but we didn't get to treat people humanely. Didn't get to treat patients like they were actual patients. Everything was measured, measured by key performance indicators and metrics, and just making sure that you know the bottom line, the the overseer corporate entity was was meeting their metrics of profitability, both of us walked away with the notion that that's not what who or what we wanted to be or represent. We're in a community that needs access to care. We have a reach very close to patients that need access to care. And a lot of the patients that we've seen either have never had that access to care, have never been told that they had alternative options besides what was just prescribed and told to them, and that's the standard that they had to adhere to. And so a lot of people, when you go, Well, maybe not all of column A, but a little bit of column A and some of column B, when you give them different education and different opportunities and different alternatives, it allows us to kind of go in and figure out the numbers just right to where nobody's leaving without groceries in their fridge this month because they have an oral infection, you know, or Nobody's life is turned upside down, and they're not going to make their mortgage or their rent payment because they absolutely had to have a tooth pulled because they have an infection that's going to completely upend their life if they don't take care of it right away. So that's kind of our principle. That's what we're founded on, and that's what we're based and built around. We love insurances. We accept all major insurances. But aside of that, you're not your insurance to us, you're you're our patient, and your your care is what's most important to

Justin Nguyen 6:43
us. Your insurance is just one factor of what can help you get more care, but there's just so much more that we can do for you that's just outside that bound, because insurance is very limited what they will cover, because they only care about what's medically necessary. You want something that's maybe even just slightly looking esthetic, or something like that, they might even just deny you on that just deny you on that fact that it's in the front of your mouth. So there's a lot of options that we have that can take care of you that aren't just insurance based. And so that's a very big misconception. Is like, Oh, I don't have insurance, so I can't get dental care. Absolutely you can. We are here for you, especially if you don't have insurance. Can you say that one more time? We are here for you, especially if you don't have insurance. Say it again. We are here for you, especially if you don't have insurance. And the

Leaha Crawford 7:26
reason why I wanted you to say it three

Leaha Crawford 7:29
times is, should be a

Leaha Crawford 7:29
slogan, yeah, it should be. It should be because that is some people just, they just don't get the help because they don't know what's out there. They don't know what's out there all right, so I'm ready for you to tell your stories. I know I really, because we talked last week about why the partnership, why it was important for you to partner. Please. Do you feel comfortable sharing your story? I do. Come on. Let's talk about it.

Xan 7:57
So again, when afinider went over to parks dentistry, and we got introduced to each other. We went there for one reason, which was my husband, who was not blessed with a beautiful smile, and wanted one. Has been wanting one since. We've been together for over 21 years. But luckily, I was just sitting there minding my own business, and Derek over here said, have you had your teeth looked at? And I was like, No, it's like, well, you're here. Might as well take care of it, which to me, right, there was a huge sign, because that's something I would have done. Well, you're here anyway. Let's go ahead and check you out as well. Okay, so that spoke to me. Then when the results came back, and they weren't what I was expecting, because I did not expect to hear that I was gonna have to have all of my teeth taken out. Oh, wow, and it was that day. It was It wasn't that day, but it was that week. Because the thing was, again, when you looked at me, esthetically wise, I had white teeth. I had straight ish teeth, so I had a pretty smile. But when you went and got the actual scan of the health of your teeth, that's where, all of a sudden, Dr Justin said, we need to do something, and we need to do it now. Well,

Jonathan 9:16
a lot of this real quick, came from his prescription drugs that he was on for 13 years with the seizures that he was having. This was almost 10 years ago, and this is the effects now of what happened is that all of that infection he was living with, he didn't know pain. We talked about earlier how we can ignore it, if we're used to it, we just become a part of your daily life. His whole life has changed because of this procedure. And as scary as it was the concept of having all of your teeth removed, it's the knowledge of, well, we've just added probably 30 years to your life because this was taking you down. And so not only did he have to deal with the emotional side of it, but accepting this journey, which. Realizing what it was. It wasn't for cosmetic purposes, it was for health and wellness purposes. So it's when we're living our lives and things happen, and we get put on prescriptions and this and that everything has a side effect. We know this. We've seen those commercials that list 500 side effects for that one

Leaha Crawford 10:16
cure and right side effects that you can't pronounce,

Jonathan 10:19
no, and then you pronounce them, and then you don't listen to death. Yeah, that's

Jonathan 10:24
the only way you can be fatal.

Jonathan 10:27
We know that. We know

Leaha Crawford 10:28
that, but, but the rest of the stuff, I'm like, Well, what did they say?

Jonathan 10:31
And in the wellness industry, we know that it connects the dots from bone to heart really quickly, like we were just talking this morning, there is a direct pathway from your mouth and dental the bones to your heart. Cardiac arrest happens. It was possibly something that was going to happen

Xan 10:50
to ZAN. I was dealing with a lot of things that I had assumed came from a different situation where I got into a physical altercation. So there was numbness, and there was sharp pain, and this that and the other that was going on. But again, I associated it with that situation.

Leaha Crawford 11:08
And basically all you had to do was get your teeth fixed. Because

Xan 11:11
literally within 24 hours of all of my teeth being removed, all of those other things went away.

Jonathan 11:18
And I will tell you that you would think that he would be swollen for weeks. The swelling was gone in 24 hours for him. Now, all that infection was over. Swelling. Once they removed the teeth, his jawline reshaped.

Leaha Crawford 11:30
So I'm gonna say my teeth clean. I lose weight. I've literally run

Xan 11:37
into so many people. They're like, Oh my God, you've lost so much weight. And I'm like, no, like, I lost infection in my face. That's because the body hasn't changed. It's the face. And I'm like, that's all I can tell you, is literally, it

Leaha Crawford 11:50
was infection. It was

Jonathan 11:52
infection in the face. Our wedding photos from May, he looks totally different,

Leaha Crawford 11:58
undetected. And it was basically just going on behalf of your husband, just accompanying him, and someone being kind for you to find out. Yes, I can't wait. Well, somebody

Jonathan 12:07
with the same mindset as we had when it comes to patient care, you'd walk through our doors. You're not $1 to us, you're a relationship. And that's what we look for with other people that we're aligning with. And that's, I think, my biggest attraction to parks dentistry and the people that work there is the same patient care is what we offer at affiniderm. For me, it was a no brainer. They do esthetics, injectables. We do esthetics. They have clients that need monthly maintenance for their facials and skin wealth. We have patients that need dental, wealth and health, so all of the things partner so well together. This was a no brainer for Xan and I to just say, let's see what this does. We have plans to go nationwide. We want multiple locations in Vegas. We've got dreams that we're going to make happen. I

Leaha Crawford 12:58
love it. I love it. And you heard them here first. How about that? So, Dr, win. Dr win. What types of services do you provide at your office?

Justin Nguyen 13:06
So we are really, well, obviously, we take a lot of classes and more, and we've really gone through the training where we pretty much offer full service. We do pretty much everything on the sun. That is dentistry. Oh yeah. We do Invisalign. We don't do traditional races, because that's a whole lot of thing. You need a whole bunch. It's more. You need a very good, well trained staff for that, and that's just not what we are currently in the future might be something we want to add to our model, but for now, let's do a visit line. Oh, yeah, we do for sure. Okay, yep, that's

Julian Rosado 13:36
cheaper than

Justin Nguyen 13:39
what normally, yeah, it traditionally, it depends. I mean, if it depends who you go to, what you need, the length of your Yeah, so it just really depends on your treatment. And unfortunately, like, dental health is so custom to each person, yeah, that's right, that you have to prescribe it to each person. It has to be a custom plan for you. So you

Leaha Crawford 14:00
mean, you can't just run into one size fits all? No, I mean, okay, I'm right, but no, but that's what happened. It seems like a lot of times, with a lot of with a lot of dental practices, it's one size fits all, you know, we're going to do everybody has cavities. We can give everybody just, you know, and do you really have a cavity?

Justin Nguyen 14:18
We don't want to jam you into a box that you don't fit in, right?

Julian Rosado 14:20
Yeah, huh?

Jonathan 14:22
That's couture dentistry, right

Leaha Crawford 14:23
there. Couture dentistry. I love it. And

Xan 14:27
again, I am literally getting custom teeth. The there, they've scanned, they've done all kinds of things. These are just the first temporaries. I'm gonna get semi temps, and then I'm gonna get my permanence, and I'm excited at first. Can

Julian Rosado 14:45
you explain the difference?

Leaha Crawford 14:47
Well, don't let him explain the difference. Talk to the dentist. Talk to the dentist. What? So what's the difference?

Justin Nguyen 14:54
So it went a lot of what's going on with that right now is basically he doesn't have teeth. So we had to get empty somehow. So the best way in is to do implants. So implants take time to heal. They have to integrate with the bone and the titanium. It's like become a Wolverine. It's really cool. It's but it has takes time to integrate into your bone and become a part of you. So in the time that it takes to heal, you can't stress it out or load it too much. So you need to have a temporary that doesn't quite put so much force on those implants. So right now, he's in temporaries, because that's what he needs to not overload those implants and make that because they might fail. We want to make sure that doesn't happen. So it's, it's kind of a hybrid situation, where some of the forces being taken by, you know, the bone that's left in there, and some of it's being taken by the implants. And so you

Leaha Crawford 15:43
really don't take all the bone, because that was one of my concern about implants, was my from what I understand, the bone in your mouth, you need it. Absolutely. You need the bones in your mouth. That's the foundation. That's the foundation for your mouth.

Xan 15:56
The one thing that I'm learning because, again, with all the prescription drugs and stuff that I was on, I now need to be tested for osteoporosis in the face, because your bones are also in your face. Yeah. So osteoporosis can affect you anywhere.

Leaha Crawford 16:14
Oh, yeah. It was all I can say is, oh. It

Jonathan 16:16
wasn't until we talked to our primary care physician and updated him, the situation was in when then he was like, we need to scan him. Then this is serious. So again, our health, it is so vital to what we do and and how we need to treat it and look at it is, is so important. And I feel like there's a lot of fear, there's a lot of misconception, there's a lot of misunderstanding and misinformation out there. Wellness is easily accessible. You just have to look, we're here.

Leaha Crawford 16:44
And I guess that's the other thing too, accessibility. Because you get this health insurance, you try to go to this primary care doctor, new insurance, doctors not taking new patients. You call everyone, nobody. Say, Okay, so I'm paying for insurance. Doctors are not taking new patients, or you go somewhere and you don't have the relationship, so you're running, like you said before, you know, they're looking at the bottom line, KPIs metrics, and you just don't feel like you're seen and heard

Xan 17:14
for the longest time. Being here in Vegas, working at the hotels and everything else, I didn't have primary. My primary was quick care, because that's what I had on the schedule. I didn't have time to go to appointments, right? It was, I had time when I was going through it and, oh yeah, quick care is available. And that's not care. No, that's literally that. Oh, one size fits all. We're just gonna herd you in and herd you out.

Leaha Crawford 17:40
And care is different. Absolutely, care is different. All right, so let's talk, you said, a lot of services. Let's go into detail. Let's talk

Justin Nguyen 17:47
about this. So of course, we do new patients, we see emergencies, we do extractions, we do root canals, we do crowns, bridges, implants, orthodontics. We do full arch cases, rehabilitation, if you're suffering from by chronic migraines too. We also do a lot of occlusal adjustments to try to make your bite stable so you're not basically traumatizing your own skull. We also do Facial Esthetics such as Botox and fillers. This, that's the law. That's all. Dr Kim, no, she's, she's the aesthetician esthetic. We do cosmetics, full smile makeovers, it's pretty much everything under the sun and dentistry we pretty much do, if it's not basically, like, short of basically doing the surgery and opening up your face predator style, like we're, we're there for you. So we know someone who will

Leaha Crawford 18:38
address is 2840, East Flamingo Road, Suite g7, 252502840, again, 725-250-2840, and it's Park dentistry. I got it right that time.

Justin Nguyen 18:53
Parks dentistry. Parks, parks dentistry, you're stuck on the walk in the park.

Leaha Crawford 18:59
I'm stuck on the walk in the park because I think that's some I think that's some I think it is. But 2840 East Flamingo rose we G, 725-250-2840, and affiniderm, 702702 skin. Absolutely, 702702 skin. Tell me what services you guys provide.

Jonathan 19:16
So of course, we offer your beautiful, custom, Luxe facials. However, we do advanced services from microneedling to chemical peels to now laser hair removal for all skin types and skin tones. We can actually do IPL facials with our lasers. Now we offer a PRX compound, which is a no downtime treatment to really get that glow. People call it the red carpet glow. You can come in

Speaker 2 19:41
red carpet glow. Stop, stop, stop. What's red carpet glow? So

Jonathan 19:44
red carpet glow? Is that beautiful face confidence that we have after getting a beautiful treatment. But a lot of the times when you get that treatment, you have some redness, you have some downtime. We now have products and treatments that have offered no downtime, so you can literally come in on. On your lunch break, get what we call our PRX bio collagen stimulation treatment. Go back to work, have that glow and put on that gown and go out that night. There's no downtime. Same day. Wow, same day. So again, hello, girl, exactly. And as we know, in Vegas, a lot of our clients don't have two or three days of downtime for a micro needle or a laser treatment to heal. They want something, though, that they need for tonight. They've got to put on their makeup. They've got to put on their game face. This is one of the things that we like to do. We specialize in treatments that don't offer or need downtime. So let

Leaha Crawford 20:36
me ask you this, how can someone that wants that glow every day like you glow every day. So how do we get the glow every day? Well,

Jonathan 20:43
it starts with dedication. It starts with a good routine, and it starts with understanding what your skin needs. There's so many products out there, it's easily to get confused, very easy. There's everybody selling, and everybody's an influence, because if you

Leaha Crawford 20:59
you want my favorite attorney says she battles more with Tiktok Esquire than she does with attorneys in the courtroom.

Jonathan 21:05
I believe it, as an aesthetician, I have to go and educate myself on all of these beef hollow trends and all of these natural things that they're doing. And as an aesthetician, I understand the benefits of using chemical and the need for it. So for me, it's re education. A lot of the times with my patients, like, Oh, I saw this on Tiktok. That's probably great for somebody. That's not you. You need something different. Again, we don't all need the same thing. It's not a one size one shot fits all. We literally customize our routines, even my protocols. Nobody gets the same protocol. Everybody's skin is different, everybody's skin. So we have to understand that. So our glow, our needs for our ingredients, are different. Got it so. But again, it just takes time dedication, and you have to want to change. You have to want to be the better you because if you don't, we get complacent. We went to a location this weekend and noticed we love people that are happy with where they're at. We are not trying to make people feel bad about where you're currently at. However, if your vibe is to be better or do more or want more, that's where we're here. And yes, a lot of it is cosmetic, but a lot of it comes from a mental state too. If you're not physically and mentally happy. Your Your world is just chaotic. You can't focus, you can't concentrate. Those looks in the mirrors become less and less. We start feeling a detachment from who we are. It all starts with that morning smile to yourself. If you can't give that to you, let's give it to you. Focus on that. Let's reevaluate that like that is where our glow starts, is with that confident look that you give yourself. And for the rest, I'm there.

Xan 22:50
So I know, growing up, I was taught the importance of looking good, but it was focused mostly on the outside, my clothes, my hair, my this and the other, and it wasn't actually how I feel when I present my smile, if that makes sense, yeah. So to me again, it goes with that education, and I love that Parks has this as well. It's, let's educate you about you, because, again, just because again, just because soap and water works for that 16 year old in Kansas doesn't mean it's going to work for you at a 49 year old in Vegas,

Jonathan 23:27
and it truly won't work for that 16 year old in Kansas either. But just putting that out there,

Xan 23:32
but literally, it's again, we're all different. We're all individual, and I feel that we've lost sight of treating ourselves as such, we tend to say, Oh, my friends can do this. So I can too, just

Leaha Crawford 23:46
or we go get the facial routine, because my friend got the facial routine. And that's not the right thing,

Xan 23:49
right? Because your friend's skin is different than yours. Because, I'm not gonna lie, I

Leaha Crawford 23:53
was using a dry skin product for a decade and didn't know I don't have dry skin. Yeah, that's a whole different

Xan 24:00
so again, it going

Leaha Crawford 24:02
to the can counter education, going to the counter when I should have went to an esthetician.

Jonathan 24:06
Well, we do what we think is available, and if we don't know to ask those questions, we don't ask them. But now that's what we love to do, is point out that we are a small business that is growing. We've got big visions. We've partnered with amazing people that we have resources for anyone. If we don't do it personally, we know somebody who can. So it's just having that conversation that we are also learning with wellness. A lot of these practitioners don't want to have these conversations with their patients, and it's either lack of education on their own or lack of care for them, just and

Leaha Crawford 24:39
you want to know what? And y'all talked about it last time, because y'all were talking about talking about sexual,

Jonathan 24:44
yes, because we now have invested in our carboxy gel therapy treatment, which now, what is that? So it is. It is a treatment that is done topically that's a mix of two masks. It's a carbon dioxide treatment that is designed to wherever you place. This to regenerate. Tissue by bringing all of the blood to that area. So you're sitting, say, we use a micro needle. For instance, you're all bloody. When you're done, I put this on you. 45 minutes of this mask on you look normal. It has regenerated the cells on such a level and at Advanced rate that it's creating a stimulation to your mitochondria. And I just mask my whole body? You can we actually have one for the body? We have one for the intimate areas. We found out that our patients, who are postmenopausal, who have unfortunately feeling the effects of aging everywhere, are now we have an intimate version of this treatment to be done in your own house. You do this for yourself, non invasive, but it is regenerating tissue. Women are confidently having sex again after menopause.

Leaha Crawford 25:49
I know that here the number is okay, so y'all know 702702 skin, yes, 702702 skin. I but just having a healthy conversation, just a healthy well, and that

Jonathan 25:59
was one of the great things that I learned when we came back and learned about this treatment. It was initiating that conversation. And as a gay man, speaking to my female patient about this, I was expecting that this doesn't concern you. Why are you putting your nose in something you don't belong to? And for me, it's the conversation that's not being had. It's the wellness conversation that's not being had. That was I needed to make sure that that wasn't happening in my

Leaha Crawford 26:22
practice. And what I can say is, well, some people are, but, I mean, some people are because I mine does and but I know some people maybe they're not. They're not comfortable with having that conversation.

Xan 26:32
And unfortunately, I think that's a learned thing, but we're learned to be, but

Leaha Crawford 26:37
we, but we, sex is something that is very uncomfortable for a lot of people to talk about in a whole lot of arenas. No, not everyone, but no, but majority, no sex. That was the thing. No

Xan 26:48
sex, right? And that could again, generational, yeah, we were taught to be ashamed. Well, there's a new day and age, new day and age. And if it's out there, and we can help

Leaha Crawford 26:59
everybody got access to the internet. I'm sorry you got access, right? You type in the word and you'll be shocked at what comes up,

Jonathan 27:07
right? It's just you gotta ask those questions. Gotta ask those questions. Gotta ask those questions. We're

Leaha Crawford 27:12
here. I appreciate it. Well, again, I'm gonna give the information 2840 East Flamingo Road, Suite G, and it's parks dentistry. I got it right. Yeah. Parks industry, 2840 East Flamingo, Rose, sweetie, 725-250-2840, again, 725-250-2840, and afinoderm, you need to give me that other addresses

Jonathan 27:37
Absolutely. So both sides of Flamingo are covered east and west. And so our original location is 8879 West Flamingo Road Suite 101, and say it again. 8879 West Flamingo Road Suite 101,
