Music 0:35
we back and we back and we back and we back.

Leaha Crawford 0:46
Hey, Julian, hello. How are you? I'm good. How are you?

Julian Rosado 0:50
Pretty good. Pretty good. Have you seen was the last time you went to the movies?

Leaha Crawford 0:59
Wow, an actual movie theater, yeah, yeah, the actual movie there and sat down and watched the movie.

Julian Rosado 1:07
Wow. Well, next time you go, you have to watch the movie, the drama, the stars, Zoe zoundaya, Zoe Saldana, yeah, yeah. Okay, that movie is

Leaha Crawford 1:18
really, really good. You want to, I, my son likes to go to the movies. I'm not, I guess I, I don't know I, yeah, not in the movie theater. Man, it was something around you. Want to know what it was, something around earthquake. And no, it wasn't earthquake, it was tornadoes. So it was a group, it was a group of people, Twister. It might have been twist, Twister too. That might have been, yeah, that was the last, I think that was the last time, yeah, that was Yeah. It must

Julian Rosado 1:54
have been so terrible, like, No, this is last, no,

Leaha Crawford 1:57
actually, it was a very good movie, and I was thoroughly entertained, I mean, but I just the movies, don't the yeah, I'd rather, no, I'd rather go eat dinner. That's my I mean, if I had to choose if I'm going out to enjoy my evening, I would rather go for a walk and go to a nice restaurant. If I'm doing a daytime activity, I like to go. I would like to go to the spa. Okay, I would like to go to the spa. Sit down. It's a real good one. It's a spa here that they actually do body scrubs. I would rather, I would rather go get me a body scrub, go sit in the sauna, the pool, and go home. And I'm just tickled. I just sit down. So I just be as tickled. And packed, yeah, expensive date. I didn't say we had to go to an expensive restaurant. I just said dinner, you know, like, I mean, I like experiencing different restaurants. So I don't really, I don't care about the, really, the price point. I like the experience, yeah, of different food from different regions. Like, I went to this authentic Mexican restaurant. So it wasn't the fast food. I love Mexican food. It was on Main Street. I want to older restaurants on Main Street. And had an amazing time. I went to Pisces in the wind, and we were sitting on a patio. Had an amazing I mean, we just had a good time. Cleavers is one of my favorites. Okay, I just like to go places that have good food. Okay, good food and, and, you know, just the experience, you know, we went to the library in MGM, that's really, it was really good. And it was, I mean, but it was an experience. A girlfriend of mine said, Well, let's go here. We're smart. We're book smart. Let's go to the library. Sure, I don't know what that means, but let's go. But I like, I like stuff like that. Like, we went dark dining. The dark dining, we've done dark dining. That was good. Oh my god, dark it was funny. As, I don't know what, because I had one of my comical girlfriends with us, and she, you know, she, well, what is this? And I can't taste, I can't see. I was like, well, it's dark dining. That's supposed to be able to see, but, yeah, so, but I have a group of girlfriends that like experiences. So we went to area 51 at one time. They had this, Dave was 13 course meal, yeah. And we had ball just, I mean, so I like, I like stuff like that. I like experiences. So, but this week, y'all, we're gonna talk about, I talked about, just talked about a whole bunch of food, because that's my I like, I like dining. We have Christy back on here with us. Y'all, like we said we are going to continue this conversation, because I think sometimes information will take away the fear, because sometimes people don't travel because of the fear. No, I don't know. I don't know what to do. I don't know what to pack. That's why they, you know, like said last week, they pack all that stuff, right? But no, Julian has some good questions that he brought up throughout the week. So what's Julian ask that? Ask that

Julian Rosado 4:48
question again, you just, what size is the rooms? Because I see you have.

Leaha Crawford 4:52
Are you talking about the cruise ship?

Julian Rosado 4:54
Yeah. What size is the rooms? Usually? So let's say it's just me and sitting. Another. So what size is usually a good room

Christy Cason 5:03
for us? Well, hello, I'm Christy Cason.

Leaha Crawford 5:05
I know. Introduce Christy, right? Bringing you back right for having me. Oh, etiquette, right? Christie, let's go back, rewind. Christy, welcome to the show. We have crystal case on on here with us again this week, and we're going to continue talking about traveling. Christy, welcome to the show. Thank you. We love to travel. Thank you. We need some applause traveling. Go ahead.

Christy Cason 5:30
Yes, indeed, indeed. So you're asking great questions, because on, like on this brand new ship, this icon of the seas, they might have 30 different room categories, wow. That's why you need a travel professional to help you decipher the type of cabin that might best suit your needs. So they start with inside cabins. They also have solo cabins for just a single traveler, because some people travel by themselves. They don't have a companion. So it just depends on the experience that you want to have on the cruise ship. From my point of view, I would definitely recommend to have a balcony cabin. If you have an ocean view balcony cabin, therefore, you can sit out on your private balcony. You can look at the ocean when you pull up to the different ports of call, which are the islands. You can view the ports of calls. You can take pictures. Now, on these particular ships, they have neighborhoods. On this ship, there's a Central Park neighborhood, there's a boardwalk neighborhood, there's a surf, surf neighborhood for families. So there's a lot of different rooms. So a lot of Balcony cabins here the boardwalk. Balcony cabin overlooks the boardwalk. On the ship, they have created a boardwalk on this cruise ship. They have a full size carousel on the ship so you can ride it just if you were on Atlantic City boardwalk. There's ice cream shops, donut shops, all type funnel cake, all type of cafes that you can go to on the boardwalk. So you have a cabin that's overlooking the boardwalk all the action. Plus there's an aqua dome at the end of aqua theater where they have water shows. They show sports on the big screen TV. Sometimes they even have sports bars on the ship. So, gentlemen, you don't have to worry about missing your sports. Don't have to worry about missing that when you on the ship. You don't have to worry about because, you know that that's a concern, baby.

Leaha Crawford 7:14
I can't go on that trip because, you know that game come on on Saturday, and you know the trip was on that Saturday.

Christy Cason 7:19
Show the games on board the ships. You don't have to worry about. They have to wear but they have a sports bar. You can have your drinks, you can watch the game. You don't have to go to the spa. If you don't want to, US ladies will, but there's all these different cabinets. There's also a central park on board this ship. They have replicated Central Park in New York. Our most cruise ships don't have live plants and birds flying around and chirping fish. These ships do. It's just like you're walking down Central Park. You want to go to the Coach store. You want to go to a high end store. Walk down Central Park. You want to go to the Chop House grills. Chop House, a nice steak house, like you said, those different food experiences. They have those on board. You can just walk through Central Park. They even have a rising tide bar. There's this bar you get into and it rises three levels up where you are enjoying your drinks, a mojito I have, yeah, yeah. It goes up three stories. It comes back down three stories. So it's about a half an hour ride. So it's a nice little picture, and you're in Central Park. You're overlooking Central Park as you're taking

Leaha Crawford 8:19
this ride, because you want to know what restaurant I did have a hard time at, though, the one stratosphere, the top of the world. I like that restaurant. I like the food. Was amazing, but it was the movement I was I was a little I mean, I Yeah,

Christy Cason 8:34
okay, so you might not like that. Rising Tide. I have a drink. It goes up, it goes down, not circle. It just goes up and

Leaha Crawford 8:41
it just goes up and down. No, for some reason I just felt, I mean, I could feel it moving, yes, but it was an amazing experience.

Christy Cason 8:49
Definitely. I've been there

Leaha Crawford 8:50
before, yeah, to see the valley,

Christy Cason 8:51
but yeah, you can definitely overlook Central Park, all these neighborhoods if you want a suite. Now, if you want to have more room, you can opt for a suite. They have junior suites, Grand Suites, Butler suites, they have Aqua theater suites with two or three bedrooms. So it just depends. If you want to take your family on board and everybody stay in the same room, you can they have two or three different bedrooms. They have different bathrooms. They have loft suites. If you just want a luxury experience, it's you and your boot. You can go and get a loft. Suite is two levels. Yeah, they have Jacuzzis on the balcony. So yeah, you have a very expansive balcony overlooking the ocean, jacuzzis, butler service, doorbells for people to enter your suite. Okay? So you can go as high as you want or as low as you want.

Leaha Crawford 9:41
Okay, so basically, you can cater the trip to what you want to experience. Yes, because everybody's

Christy Cason 9:47
experience is different. It is so we cater to your experience. So we want to put you in the right cabin to fit your needs and what you like to do. They even have Spa cabins. If you want access to the spa, you can be right there near the spa. You can go into that spa, which is what I like. I've had that spa cabin before.

Julian Rosado 10:04
Okay, okay, you stayed in there and watched the game the whole time. Yeah, that

Leaha Crawford 10:10
was my experience. I wanted to see it and I wanted to look at the ocean at the same time, right?

Christy Cason 10:14
See just the option, right? Yes, sleep with your balcony door open, so you can just go to sleep to the waves of the ocean. It's very relaxing when you're on a cruise ship.

Julian Rosado 10:23
How long is it the cruise?

Christy Cason 10:25
Yeah, typically seven days. There are cruises that start from three days. If you want a weekend cruise, there's a three day weekend wonder, if you want to take that. But like this icon of the seas, it's a seven night cruise. It's so much to see on board this ship, you could not see it all in three days. You definitely need seven days to adventure this ship, and plus, it has four ports of calls.

Leaha Crawford 10:47
We'll talk about that, though, because when you are on the ship, I mean just having the cruise ship experience, I know some people that they just cruise. That's all they do, is they they would rather take a cruise then go to an island. Yes, because they said they see more the cruise

Christy Cason 11:01
ship is a destination within itself. Okay, there's so much activity and adventure on board the ship. You don't have to leave the ship, to be honest. And some people don't like to get off an adventure. You know, go on adventure on the islands, but you can stay on that ship. But on this particular cruise, leaving January the ninth through the 16th of 2027 you have four ports of call. So Royal Caribbean has a private island called Coco K. It's a perfect day of coke. Okay? It's strictly a beach day. Hang out on the beach, have drinks, swim up bars. They have a helium balloon ride. If you want to take a helium balloon ride, they have a zip line there. They have these huge water slides, so you can do it all or do nothing at all. Then you'll stop at Cozumel. So Mexico, you'll get a chance to go to Mexico. You get a chance to go to Honduras, Roatan, Honduras, and then Costa, Maya. So you have, it's like five different vacations. You're going to four different islands. You can take

Julian Rosado 11:54
it off your bucket list. I need to go there.

Leaha Crawford 11:57
You just checking off the bucket list. Check, all right, check, did that check? Did that check? Did that check? Did that and then, yes, the people you meet

Christy Cason 12:06
on a cruise ship very nice, especially the travelers, the other travelers, everybody's friendly, they're adventurous, they're excited to be on this cruise ship. And then you have the staff. The staff are from all these different countries, South Africa, Brazil, I mean, just from everywhere around the world, you have these staff members on board the ship. You have cabin Stewards that come and clean your cabin up for you twice a day. They turn your bed down. You don't have to worry about cooking or cleaning. When you're on a cruise,

Leaha Crawford 12:36
food included, or you pay extra for food.

Christy Cason 12:38
The food is included on the cruise ship, you have complimentary restaurants on board the ship. You have breakfast, lunch and dinner and assigned dining rooms. You have a buffet you can go to. There's a 24 hour pizzeria and cafe, okay, you can and that's popular after the clubs close. Oh, you didn't

Leaha Crawford 12:57
even mention that before. Okay, we also have a club. Okay, there's clubs

Christy Cason 13:01
on board the ship. There's more than one

Leaha Crawford 13:02
nightclub, all right, okay, but then you talked about my one suitcase.

Christy Cason 13:08
You have to pack light. Gotta pack Okay, wear thin clothing, thin summer dresses, okay? You know, short sets, those swimsuits five, because during the day, you're in a swimsuit and a cover up. Okay? You're hanging out on the beach, you're hanging out at the swimming pool, or whatever.

Leaha Crawford 13:24
You want to go. You want to go from the swimming pool to Central Park to the ice skating rink. You just need

Christy Cason 13:31
to have one to cover up. Okay? But in the ice skating rink, it's a little chilly in the ice skating rink, so you want to put some

Leaha Crawford 13:37
clothes on clothes. That's what I was thinking. I was like, it's cold and ice.

Christy Cason 13:40
That's it. Is it sell out fast? The cruise ships? Yeah, they do sell fast, especially the newer ships, okay? Because everybody wants to go on the biggest bonus adventure out there. And that's what this ship is. It's icon class. It's a whole class of ships. So, yes, everybody wants to go. So what's that time frame

Julian Rosado 13:59
for somebody to hurry up and

Christy Cason 14:01
book a place. I would say you can book now, for instance, I have the cruise going January the ninth of 2027 I already have passengers booked. Okay, so we're accepting more passengers. So again, you can put down that deposit, start making monthly payments, so it's not so

Leaha Crawford 14:16
painful, all right? And the contact information

Christy Cason 14:19
is you can contact case on travel and tours at 702-642-2628 Again, that's 702-642-2628 or you can visit our website for more details. Which is case on C, A, S, O, N, travel and tours.com

Leaha Crawford 14:41
and that's spelled out and not and not the sign Correct? Okay, so say that again for us.

Christy Cason 14:46
Case on travel and tours.com

Leaha Crawford 14:51
All right, so Christy, I am. I've never traveled before. I don't know where I want to go. How do you what's the conversation? Conversation that we would have. No, I don't have a passport. I want to go somewhere. I don't know where I want to go. I hear about all these amazing things. I know what I like though. What type of conversation do you have with me to even get me, I mean, to get me comfortable. I've never, I've never been on an airplane before, so, I mean, I know where the airport is. I've probably driven by it sometimes, but I've never been, I've never really gotten on a plane before.

Christy Cason 15:28
Okay, it's time for you to get adventurous, and let's go. So let's

Leaha Crawford 15:31
go, right? And you know, there are people out there that I mean that. I mean when we take it for granted that everyone knows even how to you know what you what do you do when you get to the airport?

Christy Cason 15:41
And see, those are good questions, because I do deal with a lot of travelers there, first time first time cruisers, first time travelers. So I do like to give you information to let you know, things to know before you go. Okay, so I do have a list that I give to my clients of things to know before you go, what to expect when you get to the airport. You know, once you get to your destination, go to baggage claim and collect your bags, because some people think their bags might be delivered to them. No need to go and collect your bags before you get to your transportation to take you over to the cruise pier or to your hotel destination. So just certain things, you need to have your identification to make sure. Now going on a cruise, if you are departing and returning to a United States port of call, such as Miami or Orlando, you can utilize a birth certificate and valid photo ID if you don't have a passport. So a lot of people are not aware. Say that again, you can utilize photo ID, valid photo ID and your birth certificate if you are departing and returning to a United States port of call, even though

Leaha Crawford 16:47
you're going to the other countries, that is correct.

Christy Cason 16:49
I didn't know that because the United States, they vet you. They make they know that you are a United States citizen before you get on that cruise ship. Okay, so the other countries you know, they know that you are United States citizens. You're only going to stay in that country for a few hours as long as the cruise ship is in port and you're going to get back on the ship. You're not trying to stay there and make that country your home, because that's one of the concerns of the foreign country. So the cruise ship, they vet you before you even get on. They know your nationality. They know where you're coming back to so if you're leaving from Texas, California, any Florida, anywhere in the United States port of call, okay, as long as the ship is departing and returning to a United States port of call, you don't need a passport. It's not required. Your birth certificate and valid photo ID is required. So that's important to know, even though I recommend you have a passport. We talked about that last week. I recommend that you get a passport. It takes four to six weeks, normally to acquire your passport. You do need to have your birth certificate in order to acquire your passport. So make sure you have your birth certificate, because when you fill out the documentation for the passport, they need your birth certificate. You have to send it in to the government. They will send it back to you, but you need that documentation to send in to get the passport. But yes, you can definitely cruise without a passport in the United States. So with the

Leaha Crawford 18:08
passport, let's go back to that again, because if they missed it last week to get a passport. I mean, what is the process and how long does it take?

Christy Cason 18:16
Typically, it takes four to six weeks when the government is not in a partial shutdown. Okay, if the government is shut down, it might take you eight to 10 weeks. So you need your you can pick up an application from the post office. Most post office have locations have the passport applications you need to have a passport photo. So you can either go to Walgreens or something of that nature, and take a passport photo, because they're smaller than just a regular photo, right? You need the specific passport photo. They do that also at the post office as well. But you have to complete the application. You need the passport photo. You need your birth certificate. If you've been divorced before, you need your divorce decree. Say that again. Yes, indeed, a lot of people don't know that. So if you've been divorced, you need to have your divorce decree. They want to see that information the government. So you need to and if you have

Leaha Crawford 19:10
children, both parents have to sign. If you're

Christy Cason 19:14
getting a Passport, passport, if you're

Leaha Crawford 19:16
getting a passport for your child, that's

Christy Cason 19:18
important to know. That's important to know both parents must sign Yes, indeed. Is it

Julian Rosado 19:22
possible to have it expedited?

Christy Cason 19:25
It is you can pay an additional fee to have your passport expedited. You can also go to certain offices. They have offices. I know there's one in California. If you need to have that Passport right away, you can go to the office in California, but you need to have your travel itinerary with

Leaha Crawford 19:40
you, if you need to expedite

Christy Cason 19:42
it, if you need it, if you go to that office in person, okay, you can get your passport like, within three days. Oh, wow. But you need to have your flight itinerary or your cruise itinerary to show them, I already have this vacation planned. This is why I need that Passport right away.

Leaha Crawford 20:00
US passport offices. And you always want to look up, because it might be, it might that one might open here, or please open here,

Christy Cason 20:07
yes. But if you want

Leaha Crawford 20:08
Henderson, Anderson, or North Las Vegas, yes. And one of the areas, one did open up here, but you want to make sure, and it's a new office, but you want to make sure when you go, what services do they provide

Christy Cason 20:21
at the office. That's correct. And most of the times you'll need an appointment, an appointment to have to expedite, and they start as early as seven in the morning. If you if your appointment is at 7am you need to be in line by 630 I'm gonna be honest, right? I'm always late. You need to set it. You don't want to be late. Don't want to be late for the passport. The cruise ship will leave you if you're late, okay, the cruise ship departs at 4pm you need to be on. You need to be on board by 3pm so I tell everybody, get there as early as you can, because you embarkation, which is when you board the ship. You want to know those terms, right, right? Embarkation starts at like 1230 Okay, so because

Leaha Crawford 21:00
they have to get you, they have to get everyone on the ship, okay? And I mean, as I tell people, you can be late for a lot of things,

Christy Cason 21:09
not the airline, not an airplane.

Leaha Crawford 21:11
So I not the cruise ship, not air, because I was famous for being late for airlines. No, learned the hard way. What you show like

Julian Rosado 21:19
20 minutes before the plane leaves.

Christy Cason 21:20
No, yeah, but here's the thing, what most people don't know. They tell you to get there in advance, because your luggage needs to be on board the airplane 45 minutes before the plane departs. They need to make sure they get your luggage from the check in counter. Now you see why I like to carry on board so that airplane.

Leaha Crawford 21:39
So that's the other reason why I like to have tell me what the carry on size I'm thinking, it's like a movie, bring it on. No, I need to know what

Christy Cason 21:46
care because I Carry on,

Leaha Crawford 21:49
carry on. I need to take my stuff

Christy Cason 21:51
with me. But if you're going to Australia for 10 days, you need some luggage. Yeah, you need at least one luggage and one carry on. And that's the challenge. And then you want that luggage packed. So that 45 minutes is mandatory so they can get your luggage on the airplane. A lot of people don't consider that. They think, Hey, I showed up in the airplane. It's still 15 minutes. No, you need to be in your seat 15 minutes because the door is going to shut 15 minutes before the airplane departs and they will leave you. Oh, definitely.

Leaha Crawford 22:15
Oh no, because once that door shuts, it shut,

Christy Cason 22:19
they will make an attempt to call your name in the airport before the door shuts to tell you your plane is about to depart. You need to get to such and such gate right now. And you hear that a lot in the airport, a lot of people miss their flights. And also, with the cruise ship, you need to be back on the cruise ship once you're at a designated port of call. Say, for instance, if we are in Cozumel and they said the ship is going to depart at five o'clock. You need to be back on the ship by four o'clock, because you want to, you don't want to get left make sure you are on the ship, because guess what, if you get left in Cozumel or a foreign country, then you need a passport to get out.

Leaha Crawford 22:56
So what happens? Okay, you want to know what? I'm not gonna leave that for you to answer, because I don't, I never thought So then, how do you get out?

Christy Cason 23:04
Well, I've seen it happen before. Trust me, I've been on 35 cruises. Okay, in my

Leaha Crawford 23:09
lifetime, I'm sure you've seen some.

Christy Cason 23:10
Somebody thought that they specialize in groups. I specialize in fundraisers for nonprofit organizations. Okay, so I have seen people get left before. I'm going to be honest. Okay, people have been left because they were sitting having a drink. And they said, Oh, look at that ship departing. What a nice ship. And they said, I hope that's not my ship. And lo and behold, it was. It was my cousin. So I know firsthand people that have

Leaha Crawford 23:32
so what did your cousin have to do?

Christy Cason 23:34
He had to buy another ticket to fly back to the United States, to fly to the next port of call, to get back on the ship. $1,400 later, after he had already purchased his cruise and everything. So he had to catch back up to the ship at the next port of call, and you cannot get on the ship at every port of call. So I suggest you get back on the cruise ship. Just follow

Leaha Crawford 23:56
our before you go all y'all that think that you know y'all going, I'm just not gonna follow the rules. This is one time when you probably want to follow the rules.

Julian Rosado 24:05
I'll be like, now I'm a citizen

Christy Cason 24:06
here, and especially if you don't, especially if you got on board the cruise ship with your birth certificate, you're not going to get out of a foreign country with that birth certificate. I had some people that happened to in Mexico. We were in Mexico, and one of the clients got sick. Well, guess what? They had to go to Tijuana and walk across the bridge to get back to the United States because they didn't have a passport. Really.

Julian Rosado 24:28
You hear me? So what happens if you you're really excited to go and then you're on the ship, but then you get seasick, and then you realize, like, Okay, this is I need to go home.

Leaha Crawford 24:38
Yeah, I'm ready to go home. I don't care about your Central Park. I don't care about ice skating. I'm not doing any you want to know what I want to be on solid land.

Christy Cason 24:49
Well, they have different things to help combat the sea sickness. So there's Dramamine, of course. You may have heard about that. Those are pills that you can take. They also have something that's like a wristband. Hand that you can put on your wrist, all right. It has a little button there. It helps to keep your equilibrium in place. They also have patches that you can put behind your ear, like like smokers do when they want to quit smoking. They put a nicotine patch on where there's a seasick patch that you can put on, that on your neck, also to help keep you from becoming seasick. And then once you're on board that ship, you know Ginger helps to settle your stomach, so you can always drink some ginger ale, but I give people a tip to drink bitters and club soda from the bar that will help take away the nausea and it helps settle you down. It's called bitters. Most people know about bitters. Bitters and club soda will help calm you down.

Leaha Crawford 25:41
Wow, but these are just little things that I guess when you don't know, you don't know, yes and you'll see

Christy Cason 25:48
me like, how many patches does like, Jesus Christ. I'm so thankful. I've been on 35 cruises. I have never been seasick. Oh, wow. I'm so thankful, because I love cruising.

Leaha Crawford 26:05
You love Well, 35 Yeah, that that's, that's nice. So what's the longest cruise you've ever been on?

Christy Cason 26:10
12 days? And how was that? It was fabulous. I could have stayed on that ship another seven days. So the 12 night cruise, it was a Europe cruise. So it was very nice. We flew over to Rome. We boarded the ship in Rome. So we did.

your past, have to have

Leaha Crawford 26:29
because the Okay, what you call it again, the port, the port of call.

Christy Cason 26:32
It was a foreign port of call, but we had to fly to Rome to board the ship. So of course, in order to get to ride to another country, you had to have your you must have a passport. Okay, so when you're going on a Mediterranean cruise, which that was, you definitely need a passport going on a Mediterranean cruise. So we went to Greece, we went to Spain, we went to Italy 12 days. It was so nice, and

Leaha Crawford 26:53

Julian Rosado 26:59
Okay, what have you learned from being so multicultural and traveling so

Christy Cason 27:04
much, you know, you learn to respect other cultures more, because when you go other places, we take for granted everything is like the United States. It's not so. I love to see other cultures. You definitely learn a lot when you go other places to respect them. The more you know about other people, the more you can deal with them and like them even better and understand them.

Leaha Crawford 27:30
