And I was at an event this past week and couldn't get the women out the room, because for some reason, the DJ Pandora was playing, but they was feeling we were in the 70s and 80s, and everybody was grooving, and they were doing it little, you know, swinging, there you go, two step and, yeah, but we had a good time. So. Yes, it's Bars and Beats ladies of the night. So we all came together. Me, not a boy. DJ, DJ, Kelly, J came together and wrote this book to write about our experience of working in our industry. We talk a lot about and it's not just for people that are in the industry. We talk about negotiating contracts, we talk about Vice control, we talk about dating in the industry, we talk about how to negotiate and demanding your worth. A lot of things that I know, for me as an emcee, when I was coming up here in Vegas, no one really, you know, lended me an olive branch to show me the ropes. I had to get out there and just get busy and figure it out.

But I wouldn't take away from that, because I honestly being in this industry, I see the disadvantage of people who've always been in this industry. They don't have the structure and the discipline, because they just did whatever they want from day one. So they don't understand manuals and processes and working with the team, because they just always do what they want. But now I know ability. Yeah, no, my team depends on me, and I need to make sure we're all, you know, thoroughly compensated and all that. It's not just me.

My background is in accounting, so I was very familiar with the cube farm and all the things, but I knew that I wanted to do more. I just had no idea what that looked like, what that sounded like, and I didn't see it in Kentucky, where when I was coming up. So long story short, I worked for Liberty Tax. I was running an office, and I was, like, their brand ambassador. So I would go out to different places and, like, do presentations for, like, Small Business Owners. You can write this off on your taxes. And then I won a beauty pageant, and I wrote a rap for. It. And I was like, oh my god, I love this. And I used to write commercials for them. And I was like, I want to do this. So I moved to Vegas with about $1,200 in an engine. Check Engine light on, but I believed in myself,

Was popping in DC, and I'm never going, I'm never going to do another balance sheet. Yeah, I was in DC, and I've worked at club you and I mean, the different clubs, little clubs around DC, and yeah, did very well in bartenders. They didn't enough money to move here, so bartending was very lucrative. And I thought I was gonna bartend when I got here, until I realized that you had to be a bar back first. I was like, Oh, do that. I was like, okay, so I guess we're going back to accounting. Here we go again. We're going back to accounting. It ended up getting my CPA and everything and all the other things. So yeah,

I feel, as a host, I was kind of putting all my eggs in that basket when I when I stopped doing accounting work, and then I was all kind of felt like I was forced to take gigs I didn't necessarily want to take as far as, like, nightclubs and things like that. You know, I started out that way, but that's definitely not where I'm at today. And I didn't see that. And I'm like, Okay, well, what are we going to do, girl? And so, yeah, I had that in the back pocket, and I'm like, Okay, well, let's really dive into it. And

But when you look at it, plan your day so and we can talk about that off air pricing and everything else, but when you look at it and you say, I want this number of clients that are going to pay X amount of dollars, so I earn X amount of money, because that's what I need my baseline to live so that I can until I start earning the money that I can live off of and what I really want to do, because you do what you got to do, until you can do what you want

I need to get this done. I was like, well, you be worried about self care. I'll be about to die. I be I'm in a hospital. We got a meeting. Don't worry about it, doctor, wait a minute. I'm literally, that's me.

Okay, so having my son, I'm in labor, labor calling the client saying, you know, we got to, y'all know, y'all got the process payroll, they like, you know you in labor with and I'm talking about, I'm in labor about to have a C section with the with the oxygen in my nose, and I'm texting them, yeah, and don't forget about the payables. And don't forget that you know you got the receivables and you got to do the grant and the doctors looking at me like now I am. I'm gonna go ahead and take this trip and I'm gonna see y'all cuz it's at eight o'clock. My phone is off. I'm done, and I'm gonna take care of me until I come back at 7am Sunday. And it's a, it's a rabbit hole that I feel like me and not a boy, are definitely on the same page as far as, like, Okay, I can't be working this hard and just making enough just to get to the next gig.
