Leaha Crawford 0:44
Woo hoo hoo hoo! I'm good. All right. Well, welcome to Growth and Grace, where we have authentic conversations about business leadership, faith, and the journey that shapes us. I am Leah Crawford,
Julian Rosado 0:59
and I am Julian Rosado. Every week, we bring conversations with people who are making a difference in their community while inspiring others to grow through life changes.
Leaha Crawford 1:10
Hey, changes, challenges, all of that. Same
Julian Rosado 1:13
thing. Same thing. Right, right.
Leaha Crawford 1:15
Right. When they
Julian Rosado 1:16
come up,
Leaha Crawford 1:17
what you gonna do? Like, right. But today, y'all, we have Nikita Everett in here with us, and Nikita has built a cleaning company while becoming a published author, proving that pers that purpose, perseverance, just all the things you know that you got to go through it to get to it, right? Yes. As a friend of mine would say, you know, you got to go through it to get to it, Leah, I'm like, okay, I see. Nikita, welcome to Growth and Grace.
Niketa Everett 1:43
Thank you. Happy to be here. How
Leaha Crawford 1:45
are you?
Niketa Everett 1:46
Good.
Leaha Crawford 1:47
I know you had an eventful day, but we won't. We won't get into that. We won't go right to the cleaning. So tell us about your journey. Tell us about first of all, who is Nikita Everett?
Niketa Everett 1:56
Ah, she is the founder of All Seasons Cleaning, All
Leaha Crawford 2:04
Seasons, A L L Seasons. Yes, that means you clean in the winter, in the fall, in the spring, in the summer. All season long. All seasons.
Niketa Everett 2:12
Yes, and the visionary behind our new concept, which our company is turning into WWOC, which is Wonderful World of Clean. Okay, it's just a new concept, something that I came up with from the past eight years being in this business for myself, and just meeting so many people and figuring out, you know, the life of cleaning and and what people really want, what people really need, and how to service them better.
Leaha Crawford 2:46
Okay, so let's talk about that. So the wonderful world of cleaning.
Niketa Everett 2:49
Yes.
Leaha Crawford 2:50
When you talk about what people need, I mean, clean is clean, right?
Niketa Everett 2:53
No, not really. Right.
Leaha Crawford 2:56
So what does that mean?
Niketa Everett 2:58
So for us, it means that we come to not only provide you with a clean of your space, but we come to provide you peace of mind. So what I have encountered in the past eight years of being in this business for myself is that we run into a lot of people who feel a lot of shame about having to ask for help, especially when it comes to
Leaha Crawford 3:26
cleaning,
Niketa Everett 3:26
cleaning, and their space. You know, our space is our supposed to be a sanctuary. You know, you want to be in your space, and you want to, you know, feel comfortable, and you want to have, you know, organization. And it's
Julian Rosado 3:41
private,
Niketa Everett 3:42
and it's private. It is the most private place that you can be for someone inside of their home, and so we saw how it caused a lot of people trouble. It caused a lot of people pain. It caused a lot of people anxiety to even ask for help first of all, and then once you get into their home, you know it's it's always like very apologetic, like sorry about the mess, you know. But that's why
Leaha Crawford 4:10
you're there, right? Exactly. Tried to
Niketa Everett 4:12
clean up before you came, you know, and all these things, and we are like, but it's okay. This is what we here for, you know. You don't have to do no judgment, and you don't have to do any of that. That's why we come in, and we are here to help you. Nothing else, you know. And I think that it makes people feel more comfortable that we come in and we tell them there's no judgment here. Whatever it is that you need us to do, we are here to do. We are here to help, not just give you back your space the way you want it, but we're also here to give you peace of mind in knowing that we won't be judging what you're doing, and we also won't be showing it to the world. So we don't do anything with before and after pictures. If you see any before and after pictures, you will see. Oven, you will see maybe a fridge. You will see a grill. You might see, you know, just really standard things that you can't identify where they come from because we all have them and they all pretty much look alike, right? But when it comes to going into houses and spaces, we don't take before and after pictures, and we haven't advertised since we started. Oh wow! Get all of our customers through word of mouth, and I can
Leaha Crawford 5:27
say everybody that I have referred you to. I mean, true story, because I think I referred you to somebody, and they had their appointment mixed up, and they were calling me talking about is she okay? I said she fine, and she was like Leah. My appointment was next week. I said y'all heard the appointment with her is next week. She, you know, so it
Niketa Everett 5:47
is our it is you know our job to come in and and actually give peace of mind. It's our job to come in and do a great job, and we don't think about you know what pictures will do when you know I say like, this is you know your domain. This is your sanctuary. It's not you know for my content. My content come through you know customers giving me video testimonials. My you know it comes through customers recommending me to every person that ever says to them I need a cleaner. You know, so it's that, and we appreciate it that way. You know, we can always use more business as any business can, and we are currently growing. But we love giving the specific service that we give because it not only brings peace of mind to our customers, but it brings peace of mind to us to know that we are actually doing something more than just giving people a clean.
Leaha Crawford 6:47
Okay, so let's some tips though. If somebody wanted to clean a bathroom,
Niketa Everett 6:51
okay,
Leaha Crawford 6:51
how would I mean? How do you guys go about it? Just cleaning a bathroom?
Niketa Everett 6:54
Just cleaning a bathroom. It depends on the.
Leaha Crawford 6:59
Okay, so bathroom, bathroom with a tub, shower, a sink, floor, toilet.
Niketa Everett 7:04
Depends on the the soilness. Sometimes we we go in in a bathroom and we may have to use a steam machine, just because you know you may have some things that just the average cleaning, you know, an average wipe down and spray won't cover. So then we bring in a steam machine in order to you know try to steam away whatever it is the dirt, the debris, the you know hard water stains. Hard water and hard water
Leaha Crawford 7:34
stains are reality.
Niketa Everett 7:35
Yes, they are reality because here in Vegas the water is very hard, and if you don't have a softener, you are definitely going to get some of that. Even
Julian Rosado 7:43
with a softener, even with a softener, you
Niketa Everett 7:46
still have some level of that. It, I think, a lot of people also forget when you get a softener, you also have to get a filter. Okay. So you should change. You should get the filtration system for the water as well because they both do something different. Okay. Yes, and that also helps a lot more too, as well.
Leaha Crawford 8:07
So, but but the process. Do you? Okay. So I'm cleaning my bathroom. Do I take everything out the bathroom to clean it, or can I leave all the stuff on on the counters? You
Niketa Everett 8:16
can leave everything on the counters. We don't leave anything untouched. Okay. You know, a lot of times, I hear people say that they're the items. You know, I'm gonna move them, or I need to get them. And we're like, no, it's okay because we not only clean the surfaces, but we clean beneath the surfaces and we wipe those things down before we put them back where they belong.
Leaha Crawford 8:39
Okay.
Niketa Everett 8:39
So because you have to realize that you're in a bathroom, right?
Leaha Crawford 8:43
Right. The
Niketa Everett 8:44
shower is on the tub. You know, you have the water vapor is coming up from all of that. Right. Right. Everything that's in the bathroom is getting you know riddled with whatever.
Leaha Crawford 8:56
Right.
Niketa Everett 8:56
You know, you touching things and you're not wiping it back down. You ain't nobody's wiping down the bathroom because they wash their hands, but you gotta turn the sink off, you know. So all these things you using your your bath soap and all the rest of that, and everything is getting touched and is getting riddled with you know germs. You just get you know is being covered with soap scum, you know all those things. So everything gets wiped down. Everything. Oh
Leaha Crawford 9:19
wow.
Niketa Everett 9:19
Yeah, even your supplies, and we put them back nice and neatly, so that it feels like you know you walking into a space that has actually been cleaned.
Leaha Crawford 9:30
Do you find
Julian Rosado 9:30
in return customers getting like hyperventilating because you're probably going through their stuff to be like, oh, I'll
Leaha Crawford 9:36
do
Julian Rosado 9:37
this, I'll do this. Okay, well, just take take a time, you know, go dress some coffee, something like that. Yeah,
Niketa Everett 9:43
why we don't get many people who do like when you first come in. Explaining myself how you would be, yeah. When we first come in, you know, we have we still have customers that's regulars that'll say I tried to clean up before you came, but you know it's. More light-hearted now than it was when we first started because they know us, we know them, and we know what to expect, and they know that everything's gonna get taken care of, and they say, "I feel so bad, and we're like, "Don't feel bad, it's okay. We're here, you know. Everything's gonna be fine, and and you know we go about the clean, but we go about the clean. So me and my crew personally, it's three of us, if not four, depending on the size of the house. We don't go in alone. We always commercial two, right? Commercial two, yes. And we always at least have two people. Okay. So we move around. Everybody knows where they're going. Everybody knows their role. Everybody knows what they're good at. So, what are
Leaha Crawford 10:44
you good at? Kitchen.
Niketa Everett 10:45
I, I am definitely a kitchen person. I yes, I will go around and do you know a lot of dusting and and and those things when I have three people and it's three of us. One of my daughters, she also loves the kitchen, so that's her space. When she is with me, when she's not, I'm just like I got the kitchen. But the other one does the bathrooms, and then we all equally share in everything else. So okay, how about the
Leaha Crawford 11:17
floors? Who does the floors, like the mopping the floors and
Niketa Everett 11:19
stuff? Um, I think we all do, but I think I guess I get tasked with that more than more than all because I am very particular about how they look. I do not want to see a streak. You know, if I see streaks, I'm going back over it, and as many times as it takes, this was happening. So I'm very particular about how things look. They know that when they get done, and I trust them because they have been doing this since I started doing this for myself. And where'd you learn? I've shown them everything. So I've been in the hospitality industry since I was 19. I started working in a hotel downtown Marriott in Philadelphia. Okay. Yes. After an internship, and I went from every every part. I started out in housekeeping, and then went to PBX, and then went from PBX straight to the front desk, and then went from the front desk to food and beverage, and so and so I've pretty much you know learned in the process of all of that you know the cleaning, and then you know my grand my grandmother and my grandfather owned a hotel years and years and years ago, and I was really young didn't even realize that I was walking through a hotel that actually had, you know, old black celebrity stars staying there, just going through those hallways and then growing up and learning that that's what was happening. I remember my grandmother making beds and you know scrubbing floors and showing us you know how to do it and all of that, but yeah, it was the Adtux Hotel. Oh wow! Yes.
Leaha Crawford 13:05
Oh wow! That
Niketa Everett 13:05
was in South Philadelphia. In
Leaha Crawford 13:06
South Philadelphia. Yes. Okay. All right. So so cleaning. So cleaning has always been. Yes,
Niketa Everett 13:11
cleaning has always been a thing. We have Sunday mornings. You know, they turn on the music. You hear, you know, the aisle green and the and and whatever else, and and it's time to clean. You know, it's time to get up, and it's time to clean. Yes, time
Leaha Crawford 13:26
to clean. Now, let me ask you this: So, in cleaning a house, right? Well, we talked about a bathroom. You wipe everything. How about cleaning the kitchen?
Niketa Everett 13:35
Cleaning the kitchen is a lot more. Is so one we what we don't do. I'm gonna say this is that in with WWOC and this concept that we have now, we have stopped using materials the same way we used to use them.
Leaha Crawford 13:54
Okay.
Niketa Everett 13:54
Now we do have we have standard cleaning products that we know that works. You know, works on wood. It's not really that serious, you know, those kinds of things. But we, after first visit of cleaning, I take pictures of customers' homes, and I take those pictures for myself just so that I can assess everything that they have, and then we bring in a a caddy with products, and those products are strictly for this house.
Leaha Crawford 14:25
Okay.
Niketa Everett 14:26
If you are a reoccurring customer, that is what you'll get, and it makes sure that we have the right thing for your floors. It makes sure we have the right things for your fixtures. It makes sure we have the right products, you know, for disinfectant because you know not everybody uses their spaces the same way. We have customers who are Jewish, and you know they you can't have cross contamination. You know you can't have this here and that there. They separate you know milk products and meat products and you know so many different. Things and so learning all of those things in this being respectful of what of what
Leaha Crawford 15:04
the being respectful you said the person space right
Niketa Everett 15:07
and also being respectful of everybody so just that's where WWOC really came from just really learning you know how to cater more to households instead of just this being a company and catering just to a customer as a whole.
Leaha Crawford 15:25
Okay, so basically, you it's a it's a it's a concierge cleaning service.
Niketa Everett 15:29
Yes.
Leaha Crawford 15:29
So basically, I'm interviewing. You're interviewing. Well, let me see if I can I can explain it back. You're interviewing. You're asking what they want and what clean is to them because I guess clean is different levels of different levels of clean.
Niketa Everett 15:44
Yes, and then just making sure that what we bring in for our reoccurring customers, we bring in all of the supplies that we need, and we leave that there. They know that they have this here, and anytime that we show up, we know where to find our products to clean their home. We don't use, we don't rewash rags and bring them back. The rags that they have at their house are color coded for their house, and we only use them there. When they get washed, they are strictly washed and taken back to that same house because we know who they belong to and we know where they previously been used. We don't do any kind of cross contamination of dirt, dander, you know, dust because and that's
Leaha Crawford 16:28
and well for your recurring clients,
Niketa Everett 16:30
yes,
Leaha Crawford 16:31
basically. So what you're saying is all of their supplies are there.
Niketa Everett 16:34
All all of them are there.
Leaha Crawford 16:36
Okay, so you're basically showing up. Okay,
Niketa Everett 16:38
yes, and so we also give them a pamphlet and show them, you know, what we have. We allow them to smell products to make sure that you know everybody has some kind of allergy these days, right? You know, some people have sensitive nose and so forth and so on, just to make sure that we're bringing in stuff that's not bothering them over time.
Leaha Crawford 16:58
Okay,
Niketa Everett 16:59
but also bringing in things that really work on their stuff because you know everybody has different countertops. You might have marble, you might have quartz, you know, and everybody doesn't right doesn't work on the same thing. And so we make sure we pay attention to those details to make sure that we're bringing in the right items, not just to clean your home, but also maintain the quality of it.
Leaha Crawford 17:20
Well, that's but but that's but that's a key point though. So, just because it says one one thing cleans all, it might not be good for your okay. Yeah,
Julian Rosado 17:30
that's the biggest lie I've ever seen. It is right. My goodness. Like I tried to use all-purpose cleaner for my window one time. I remember when I was kid. I was like, man, this is like
Leaha Crawford 17:39
I want to say it was you that taught me. I think I was using, I was cleaning something, and you taught me about vinegar and water for windows.
Niketa Everett 17:46
Yes, for windows. For windows,
Leaha Crawford 17:47
just use vinegar. It was like just vinegar and water. I told you that. No, no. Well, one, it don't matter. No, because it was so funny. Because I had always had the window clean. I still have some left. Oh yeah, yeah. I
Julian Rosado 18:00
think you told. But
Leaha Crawford 18:00
using the vinegar and it actually cleans the windows so much better, so much better, and it's
Niketa Everett 18:06
not expensive. Not expensive, yeah. Well, and
Leaha Crawford 18:08
I guess that's the other thing too. Cleaning product, cleaning products are expensive.
Niketa Everett 18:11
They are, they are, they're very much expensive if you're using the. But the thing is, if you find the right products, you use less of it, so therefore you you keep it longer. Okay, and so that's another reason why we take in our own products because you know we know what it is that needs to be used, and we know what is going, how it's going to maintain, and we also know that having individual household products will also have a longevity, and so doesn't really cut into the customer's pocket, which also doesn't cut into ours. You know, I got
Leaha Crawford 18:49
it. I got it. All right, so you are listening to Growth and Grace. I am Leah Crawford. This is
Julian Rosado 18:53
Julian Ronto.
Leaha Crawford 18:53
And Nikita, can you give us your contact information?
Niketa Everett 18:56
Yes. So All Seasons Cleaning lv.com is website. So if you want to find us, you can also go to Facebook, Instagram, TikTok.
Leaha Crawford 19:12
Okay. Oh, you got TikTok
Niketa Everett 19:13
videos? Yeah.
Leaha Crawford 19:15
But it's still under all seasons.
Niketa Everett 19:16
Yes, but it's still all under all seasons. Cleaning LV.
Leaha Crawford 19:21
Make sure you put the LV. Make sure you put the LV because I'm sure there are other companies out there around all seasons.
Niketa Everett 19:27
Yes.
Leaha Crawford 19:27
Okay. So we we did the now we did the bathroom, vacuum. You know I don't like the vacuum.
Niketa Everett 19:33
No.
Leaha Crawford 19:33
I don't. Wait,
Julian Rosado 19:34
you like the sound of it?
Leaha Crawford 19:35
I don't. I don't know why I don't like the vacuum.
Niketa Everett 19:38
It's so soothing. It is. It's one of my favorite. That's not one of my men.
Leaha Crawford 19:42
Mine is cleaning the kitchen.
Niketa Everett 19:44
Okay. I
Leaha Crawford 19:44
like to clean. I like to clean. I for some reason. Whenever I start cleaning, I love it. I love a clean kitchen. Vacuuming.
Niketa Everett 19:52
Not. It's not my. And I have no idea why.
Leaha Crawford 19:55
I don't know why. Are
Julian Rosado 19:56
you teasing as a kid? No. No. No. For some
Leaha Crawford 20:00
reason, and I know, like shampooing, like okay, so shampooing carpets. Some of us have carpets here. It's very dusty here. How often would you recommend that we shampoo our carpets minimally? Just minimal.
Niketa Everett 20:11
Um,
Julian Rosado 20:12
say every three years at least, right?
Niketa Everett 20:14
I would say every once a year. Once, okay, so once a year, yeah, at least.
Leaha Crawford 20:20
Just do it once a year. I do
Julian Rosado 20:22
not have dirty carpets just in case. Well, no, because
Niketa Everett 20:26
it's not just about the you know if you have a lot of traffic coming through your house, I would say probably more often than that, maybe every six months. But if if it's just about the dust, and you'd be surprised how much dust and dander, you know, dust mites and all of that. That is in a in oh definitely a pet. You need to go a lot more. Yes, but without that, it's just a lot of dust. It's a lot of dander. You get dust mites and everything, and you don't really know it. You know, and it's in the carpet. And so if you're not getting it clean once a year, you'd be surprised at what it looks like when you finally do get it clean. And the
Julian Rosado 21:06
color, the color of changing the
Niketa Everett 21:08
coloration, the texture of it. You know, you you can start to feel the difference from when you first had the carpet to when you, and you can
Leaha Crawford 21:18
tell when you move furniture. Yes, yep. You can see. You can see the difference, the difference in the
Niketa Everett 21:23
coloring. Yes, everything. So I would say once a year standardly, but if you have pets, yes, more frequently, yes, more frequently every four four to six months. Oh wow! Okay, just to make sure, just to make sure because vacuuming is fine. Vacuuming, you know, works, but it's again, it's like anything else when it comes to floors. It's surface.
Leaha Crawford 21:47
Okay,
Niketa Everett 21:48
it's not getting beneath the surface, and actually getting a carpet steam clean works just like getting a a floor steam clean works. You know, so like even with your hardwood floors, you'd be surprised if you know when I go and I'm like, okay, your floors need a a deep scrub, and we can either steam clean them. And usually, if you have you know grout lines and stuff like that in your floor because you have tile, we do the steam clean. But if you just have hardwood floors or anything laminate in that, then we do a floor scrub, but usually a scrub. When a person hasn't had a scrub and all they have had is the floor being mopped, it takes at least I'm gonna say four or five times before the water even comes to a place to look like it is going back to clear to understand that the floors are really damn clean.
Leaha Crawford 22:43
So I love Nikita just personally because she always she says I said well do you sage houses she said Leah I am the sage I said oh
Niketa Everett 22:52
I
Leaha Crawford 22:53
said oh okay
Niketa Everett 22:55
yes because we when we get up you know even with with my team my girls everything my thing is, we want to come into your home with the best possible energy. And days don't always go great, you know, for anybody or everybody. And so when we aren't having the best day, you know, I'm like, if you can't, if you know that you can't get it together, stay home. You're fine.
Julian Rosado 23:20
Have it.
Niketa Everett 23:20
We'll we'll take care of it. There are days when you know you know you can get it together, and you just like I just need an extra 30 minutes, and and and we all give each other that you know because we don't want to bring negative energy or bad energy or energy of any kind that is not that does not belong to you and does not reflect healing, doesn't reflect cleanliness, doesn't reflect kindness, doesn't reflect compassion, all of those things. Because we're coming into somebody's home, and I treat every customer's home when we go into it like I want my home treated when I invite people into it. I
Leaha Crawford 24:00
appreciate that. Okay. All right. So one more time, give us that website, and you said on all social medias.
Niketa Everett 24:05
Yes, all seasons cleaning LV, and then all seasons cleaning lv.com
Leaha Crawford 24:12
Okay, I love it, Julian. You have oh, you want to know what you want to do your lightning round, right?
Julian Rosado 24:16
Oh yeah. You want to do that? Okay, all right. So Nikita, first of all, I want
Leaha Crawford 24:20
to thank you.
Niketa Everett 24:20
Thank you. But Julian's
Leaha Crawford 24:21
going to ask you. He's he's going to say some words.
Niketa Everett 24:23
Okay.
Leaha Crawford 24:24
And then we're going to figure out. Well, let's do
Julian Rosado 24:29
ask your question, and then you say that first word. Well, no, no, let's not do
Leaha Crawford 24:32
that yet. Let's talk about home habits. Okay. What are some good home habits that people can have?
Julian Rosado 24:37
Yes.
Niketa Everett 24:38
Um, in reference to cleaning, just
Leaha Crawford 24:40
cleaning.
Niketa Everett 24:41
Um,
Leaha Crawford 24:42
so that's some good habits.
Julian Rosado 24:42
So like they can like maintain, you know.
Niketa Everett 24:45
I think first everybody should start off with a professional deep clean for your house, regardless whether you want you say I'm the person that clean my house or whatever case may be. I get that, but there are areas you know that we. That we all overlook because it's our house. So I would say get a professional deep clean, and then if it's done properly, as it should be, and there is a list on my website of a proper deep clean, you can go to there and you can you know use it when you are hiring a company, and you don't have to hire my company, but make sure that when you hire in a company, you know what it is you should get and what it is you want.
Leaha Crawford 25:30
Okay,
Niketa Everett 25:30
so that you can actually make sure that it's being done, and you can also negotiate that it's being done before you, you know, just pay and then get a service that you might not, you know, be happy with. So after the the deep clean, it's it's very easy. It should be very easy for you to maintain from there if you're a person like I keep things, you know, up. Yeah. And so some of the habits I probably would say, you know, spraying down your shower, okay. Even if you don't do it every single day, just spray it once a week. When before you, you know, you in the shower, put a bottle of vinegar and water in the shower. It's just that simple, and just spray it when, but right before you get out and leave it. Don't even worry about it because what's gonna happen is when you get in the shower again, it's gonna rinse it. So you can do it as often as you choose. And vinegar and water. Yes, all right. But if you only do it once a week, or you forget about it and you like do it last week or month, I'm gonna make sure I do it before I get out the shower this time. Okay. You know that is really so. Let's talk about the
Leaha Crawford 26:38
mixture. Is it half vinegar, half water?
Niketa Everett 26:40
Yes, equal parts vinegar, equal parts water. Oh yes, got it. Yeah. How about
Leaha Crawford 26:44
making the bed every day?
Niketa Everett 26:45

It's just a bed. Come on, right? But it does. But it does. When you have those hard days and you get up and you don't want to get up, or you just you know not feeling it today, making the bed actually changes your mind from focusing on what it is that you're going through to just a small task that's really small to you know. In hindsight, after you're done, because it actually puts you in a mind frame of what you can do next. About
